Let's hand this loss out to SVG and here is why. He gave Lewis the ball to shoot a 3 to win the game and Lewis has been in Alaska this past couple of games. It's unfortunate that he got hit on the elbow, but I would have rather seen Hedo or Redick taking that shoot. I was happy with the fact the we went for the 3, but for god sake, Lewis has been cold. I am very disappointed at Lewis. He makes way too much money to have so many bad games, but I'm gonna try to stay positive and hope that is a good thing that is happening early in the season and not late.

I hope he shows up against the Lakers.

Two more things about our team. Carlos Arroyo did not shoot the ball well, but played much better than Nelson. Redick is also earning more playing time.

Why did we bring Cook for??? SVG is not playing him.

Good effort for the magic. Reddick had the hot hand and they kept feeding ice cold Lewis who was shooting like a cat drinks milk (with its eyes closed). Howard was alone in the paint rebounding and the other big men are too soft to get there and help until the end when lewis took a ball out of dwight's hands to have it taken away by Staudomire. Arroyo plays a true point guard game and Nelson is a wreck waiting to happen with his out of control drives. I'm afraid that Lewis might be the regular season star who freezes in play-off clutch time and I hope I'm wrong!!!!

We were just a play away from winning. An improvement from the earlier loss to the Suns.

How about 16-4 after this road trip. They can beat the next two.

Well the last play drew up pretty well, but Turkoglu inbounded the ball behind Lewis, so he had to reach back for it, allowing Marion to recover. But nevertheless an improvement from the Magic. The Phoenix played as well as they could but we hang on there, with the best. Far better than the blowouts from the elite teams in the first 2 games.
Btw, Arroyo plays more like a Pg than Nelson. But he shoots worse. I dunno, I would go with Arroyo, we need the guys to be feed with assists and have Nelson coming over the bench, where his scoring is more needed with the second unit.

The Magic played like crap. But to fight back like that and then get robbed by the Refs again is pretty disheartening. And I'm not just talking about the Lewis play. It makes me so mad to see Dwight get hacked and I mean really hacked and the refs swallow their whistle. If he was Lebron or Dwyane he'd get the call everytime.

The Magic came out with little energy which showed with them only scoring 16 points in the first quarter.
They finally decided to play some defense in the last quarter. The bottom line is they have to put together 48 consistent minutes, especially against the better teams.
With Nelson and Bogans on the floor tonight the Magic were outscored by 13 with Bogans, and 12 with Nelson.
With Arroyo and Redick it was +9 with Redick, and +8 with Arroyo.
Raja Bell torched us early.
Good to see SVG rip his team afterwards instead of that typical candy a** BS a lot of coaches say after a bad loss. No moral victories here. Good call Stan. Tell it like it is. The team played horribly and then decided to show up late. No way you can do this against the top notch teams and have any chance of winning. Have to keep jumping down these guys throats til they get it right.
If the Magic play with the energy and passion they exhibited in the 4th quarter for 48 solid minutes then they will definitely start winning their share of games against the NBA'S elite teams.
Have to come out with more focus, especially on the defensive end.

Phoenix TCB now the Lakers and Golden State will TCB. Howard is terrific. The rest of the league is going to trade fouls and keep DH in foul trouble. How good are the Magic when DH is not on the floor? Lewis was seriously out of control tonight. Van Gundy needs to take control. Phoenix tried to help. They missed every shot. What does Redick have to do to get some credit? If you read BS, Redicks contributions are ignored. Nelson will not get him the ball. Van Gundy seems to be keeping Nelson under control with CA. GEEEZ GET WITH IT. THINK TEAM!!!!

Steve I agree with you 100 percent there. But if the Magic play with the same focus and passion they played with in the 4th quarter those calls would never have mattered because they would have won the game rather easily. way too many 3 point shots taken tonight. you live and die by the sword I guess.

Lewis is a good example of an elite pro athlete that could benefit from a few cycles of steroids to add 40-50 pounds of needed bulk to that fragile frame of his.As it is right now he is way too soft for a big man.

Well, they cant win them all.Lets give it to our guys.they played hard and they fought back to the final until the last 14 seconds of the game. Remember Phoenix is a more talented and more experienced team.

Did not manage to watch the game but it sounds like this Magic team gets compacent. Still way too early in the season and losses like this are better sooner than later. Frankly I do not mind the Magic losing to the Suns who are a far better team. The Magic are getting there and are learning from the good teams. It would have been nice to see them win in Phoenix, but like i said earlier, Suns are a better team, and the Magic are learning. They are def. a good offensive team, they are still maturing. With the way Howard is playing you know that once the team works out most of its kinks, this team is going to be great. Nelson, Howard and Lewis locked down for a few years, if Otis can continue to provide the team with solid help for these three players its just unimaginable to think the type of Dynasty this team could become, for crying out loud Howard is yet to turn 22. No one envisioned the Magic to be as stout as they have been so far, so a championship this year is kind of pushing it, but making the finals is not. If the Magic avoid the Pistons, and if some how the Pistons meet the Celstics in the playoffs, and lose, there is no wya the Celtics can hang withthe boys in blue in a 7 game series. All in all, sad they lost, but Im not too worried about it. Its a growing process and its better to lose to a perrenial team early in the season than later.
Peace in the MIddle East, Im out!
