GO MAGIC!!! Keep up the good work.
They HAVE beaten Boston, so we know that they are capable of beating elite teams. That does not concern me as much as they MUST beat the teams they are supposed to beat as they did last night in Portland.

As games go by, they VanGundy is getting his rotation down, and players like Bogans and Turk are showing you more than they did with Brian Hill's bend but don't break style of basketball. This team is more aggressive offensively, and tougher defensively. They COMPETE more.

The Magic are better athletically, and more sound in all phases of the game. The obvious improvements are Lewis and Foyle making Howard a more consistant force night in and night out.

No, I am not giving the Magic the Eastern Conference crown, but they are potentially a top four seed, and a threat to be good for years to come.

I love what I see with this team.

Dude, you've gotta be kiddin me. Arroyo plays good once out of every 5 games, the other 4 he SUCKS. At least Nelson plays good every other game. Who sparked the 16-0 run in the second quarter(that was Jameer, not Arroyo). I'm not saying Jameer is a premier PG or anything, but he's a hell of alot better than Arroyo. Get a clue
One language speaking moron for the first time in three years this forum have been used properly without throwing any trash to the players, and here you come writing BS so that the jammer/arroyo controversy starts again. get a job or something or go get a college degree and learn spanish so you can come back again to this forum.

This site was brutal to Jameer last season and now when he is having a second break out year,(see two years ago), peaple are slow to give him some love. His #'s and play have been all star worthy and his desire to win and make the big play(see his steal from a few nights back for an easy layup, as well as his countless big time jumpers and layups) are right up there with any player in the league. That is what is really great about this Magic team, we have four clutch go to guys that can deliver. Arroyo is great as well, and probably one of the best back up point guards in the league. GO MAGIC!!

Great article, pointing out the fact that Rashard Lewis really deferred the 3 point shot last night was very true. He gives a little pump fake and then takes it to the basket or dishes it off. I hope we see more of that from him while he continues to get his form back on track.

If Arroyo played with any conistency he might be a starter for maybe 5 times in the league...but he doesn't so he will continue to be a good backup. Turk was awesome in the 2nd half and Lewis did a great job taking it to the basket and being more than just a jumpshooter especially when his shot seems flat right now. Foyle and Evans were the energy that was lacking in the 1st half. Them and Dooling are our hustlers...Just surprised Arroyo hasn't run the pic and roll/pop to get Cook shooting cuz he is money from mid range and has 3pt range...

Those of you waiting for the Magic to fold like they did with their robotic coach last year are going to be disappointed. This team is the real deal, and they have the right coach to conceivably take the Eastern Conference crown this year. Finally, League MVP Dwight Howard has the right pieces around him, including a top-tier coach, and a personal mentor who just happens to be one of the top-50 players in the NBA.
One final observation, I wouldn't be surprised if the Magic pull off another trade with Redick as the bait. JJ's playing time is practically nilch, similar to what happened to Ariza before he was shipped out. Just a hunch.

Please, Arroyo never has the opportunity that Nelson has to do whatever he wants. Give Arroyo that opportunity and you are going to see who the best point guard of this team is.

The Magic could get Reddick for a draft pick, and pick up a good D-League player for next to nothing. Right now the Magic have enough in house to contend for a championship.

There is no trade that the Magic could make for Reddick this year that would help this team now.

JJ REdick will not be traded. Why give up on him already?...Dont get me wrong...I know he hasnt proven anything yet...but then again...he has never gotten a chance to prove it yet. He has not played even 15games consistently yet. Besides...If HEDO/Lewis gets hurt...he is the only outside shooter we have. IMO i'm still optimistic about this guy...He is never healthy. We cannot judge this guy before giving him a chance and minutes... Magic will not trade away a shooter ..especially not after given any minutes. Ariza got his shot...Reddick will get his turn.

VERY true. Arroyo is a great backup right now. This guy is a pure point guard with the least TO. If you trade this guy, there are multiple teams that he can start for easy. Just because he is not very offensive oriented doesnt mean he is not decent. I think he has played well this year with this system. You cannot get a backup PG like him. If you do, then they would want to Start.

I saw the entire game last night. It was a good and important win. Let's enjoy the ride, guys. The team is playing great. Let's stop criticizing our players. They are giving their best effort. I do not think we need any more trades at this point. We won with Howard scoring only 9 points. Carlos Arroyo was very effective as the point guard in the fourth quarter. Let's stop the Jameer/Arroyo controversy. Jameer is established as the starter. If we accept Arroyo as a back-up point guard, we will be hard-pressed to name a better back-up point guard in the NBA. Let's give some respect to the guy. He is an international superstar trying to adjust to being a role player on a winning NBA team. We are fine, guys. Seattle will be our victim tomorrow night. I'll be watching.

very true.... I agree with you. I don't think this is the subject here but we are writing about sub-players and bench guys.... what about Anderson Varejao? he is available and he could do a better job inside than Cook would do.

You arroyo fans are hillarious. Carlos Arroyo would be a decent junior college player, but never a stater in teh NBA.
The guy has very limited skills, horrible decison making and shoots bricks. Trouble with him is he actually thinks he is good and that's why he takes all the bad shots he does. We all saw what Arroyo did over a season last year. Horrible. Hopefully the magic are giving him minutes to set up a trade.
Nelson makes horrible decisions too all the time, but at least he has game.
