If they would have brought back Gordon, they would have regretted it. He is a great offensive player, but his defensive liabilities make him a sixth man, which apparently is how Detroit will use him. He won't be any happier about there then he was here. Just richer. And if the Bulls need to pick up another guard, is Janero Pargo available? I'd love to get him back.

I am willing to sacrifice Gordon's contract for a chance w/ next year's super free agents. Just might have to be patient this season though, but can pay off BIG a year from now. Go Bulls!

2 stiffs in the draft and you lose Gordon (first round pick ) for nothing. yes he has flaws, but you still are not replacing him with equal quality- Bulls sellout every game-and cry cheap-remember no Gasol when handed the chance...don't believe the wait until 2 years mentality--they are now a franchise on the way down.

BG's flaw is that he is too short for SG defense and even some offensive plays. He may be an all star playing PG at Detroit. The flaw was Pax's decision to play Hinrich at PG, after they got BG. Hinrich had trade value then.

Wouldnt it be great to have Sefolosha, Shannon Brown and/or JR Smith ( know he is a bad driver). Thanks lots for dumping them Pax.

What do you think?...hypothetically ...knowing yao would be out all year, possibly longer... if houston would trade him for, say brad miller and tyrus, would you do it, take that chance? you'd lose a big chunk of the 25M cap space in 2010... but you'd have yao and still have $ to pull in top FA, such as Bosh... that would be quite a front line to pair with Rose

Is the injury similiar to Bill Walton's foot problems, I wonder. How about Tim Thomas who Pax loved enough to trade for twice and whom Krause coveted? He would make a great addition to Houston!

I am going to stick my neck out here. Anyone agree that Bulls should have dumped Hinrich, rather than Hughes?

STILL, I'M GLAD THAT GORDON IS GONE FOR MANY REASONS. MOST OF ALL, HIS POOR DECISION MAKING AND EVEN POORER DEFENSE. IN ADDITION TO THIS, HE WAS A CRYBABY ABOUT HIS ROLE PLAYING OR COMING OFF THE BENCH. IF YOUR DESIRE IS TO WIN A TITLE, WHAT DOES IT MATTER IF YOUR A STARTER OR COMING OFF THE BENCH? IT SHOULDN'T IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS.
I GUESS FOR GORDON, HE GOT THE CASH HE WANTED, AND A NEW START WITH THE PISTONS. HEY WAIT A MINUTE, WON'T HE BE A PLAYER COMING OFF THE BENCH IN DETROIT? YEP, WOW, BENNY YOU CAN'T GET ANYTHING RIGHT.
If Gordon's defense was bad, what about the other four players on the floor? I watched some of the games and there were times that Bulls player were standing around waiting on the other guy to play defense. As for Gordon coming of the bench in Detroit, I am of the opinion that he will be treated fairly by the general manager and coaching staff, and that means more to Ben than the money.

Great news for Chicago, great move Wade and Bosh not far-fetched, and Brandon Roy will be a restricted free agent next year as well. Go Bulls!!

I don't know what to think. I liked Gordon, but hated his defense. You will see Rose going by him all day when the Bulls play the Pistons. All I know is Bulls games will be a little less interesting if they don't win on a consistent basis.

As much as I hate writing this, Chicago needed to let Gordon go. The price tag was too much. Now, Salmons can slide to the 2G with James Johnson playing the 3. Chicago can improve its team with a few minor moves. First, they need to cut ties with Gordon which they have done. Second, see if another team would take Deng for either a 2nd and cash (even if Chicago pays half of his yearly salary then Chicago would have an additional 4-5 mil to throw at someone for a one year deal.) Third, Chicago has to decide if they want to keep Heinrich around to be the backup at the 1 and 2 because Heinrich is one of their more valuable trading chips. If they can find a home for Heinrich then sign someone like a Marquis Daniels. Four, keep Brad Miller around to back up Noah and the occasional spot start. Remember that Miller's contract comes off the books next year. Fifth, target one or two mid-level front court players like ZaZa Pachulia, Chris Wilcox, or a Gerald Green. Players like these are not sexy signings, but let's face it Chicago is banking on 2010.

HAHA. yeah i think you stuck more than your neck out there on that one. Stats alone, Hinrich pwns Hughes. Hinrich's intangibles are way more than double also.

He's good to keep around as a jic player, but Portland really wants him as a PG for Roy.

It is inconceivable that an organization with any competence in talent evaluation or building a team would conclude that Kirk Hinrich is more valuable than Ben Gordon. No disrespect to Hinrich, who give s 100 percent every day, but Gordon is a special player who is one of the few players in the league that can influence games by himself. he was also a huge benefit to Derrick rose by spreading the defense. The Bulls will regret this. But they've made alot of bad moves before, not withstanding the benefit of the Miller/Salmons acquisitions. Paxson is in way over his head.

The mere suggestion proves u know little or nothing about basketball.Hinrich has great value at either backup point guard or solid shooting guard. He plays great defense and is coveted by most teams in the league while Larry Hughes is a joke who bounces from team to team.Do u think its a coincidence he cant find the stability of one team.He STARTED on a Cav team that went to the finals yet demanded to be traded so he could get more shots.Hinrich on the otherhand is the consummate team first guy.Rethink your theory.

Bad teams give away good assets for free to division rivals. The Bulls better bring in Wade to fill that hole in the backcourt. Otherwise this team will continue to lose and move on to rebuilding plan #6 once Rose leaves as a free agent.

Reinsdorf is a disgrace to this city. How long is he going to try to live off MJ's rings? Pay the damn luxury tax

No. There is a reason Hinrich could be dumped at any moment and that Hughes could only be moved when a team became desperate.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Virgo

Mercury is turning retrograde at just the right time, because it's telling you to consider the validity of your long-term aims and aspirations. If they stand about as much chance of seeing the light of day as you do of winning the Lottery, then you need to streamline them or even abandon them and start again. So think about what you want from life and how you're going to get it. Children and romance may be quite erratic during this phase.
