Derrick is a great kid forever in our heart. He is humble, respectful, unselfish, and thoughtful. He purposely chooses to live in Deerfield to stay away from all sorts of crime and temptation in Chicago city. How can he be a gang member? Leave this good kid alone!

He isn't a gangbanger he just flashes gang signs
He didn't take the SAT's he just went to college on them
He didn't change his grade someone unknown to him did
With this line of bull he and DaMayor should become great buddies
He also freezes up during crunch time on the court.

This situation is similar to the Michael Phelps photo. An alleged "friend" took this photo and then used it against him for personal gain. Nice "friend."
Nothing wrong with smoking a little pot...
There IS something wrong with ANYTHING gang related.

Seems like people are just looking to dig up dirt on this kid. I know down at u of i, the whitest of the white suburban kids "flashed" that very same GD sign to "rep their hood" at parties. They were intelligent beings just fooling around. Who cares, he flashed a damn gang sign. Like he said, he was young, dumb, and someone probably asked him "yo man, where you hail from"...and the young Rose threw up the GD sign. Who cares.
People in general should look into the mirrors, while, at the same time, getting a clue.
So, he supports that gang?
Is he also sending money to them?

I'm almost 40 now, but I grew up around folks and brothers. I was never in a gang but I grew up around Blackstone Rangers in my hood and GDs in my cousins' neighborhood. I had to learn how to throw signs, do the hand shakes and "spit law" just to keep from get beat down in certain neighborhoods. When I went down south to go to school I threw the pitchfork to the sky and to the ground all the time for curious people that weren't from Chicago and wanted to see them. There might even be a picture or two like that of me floating around, but they'd be about 20 years old and I'm not famous so no one would care. The point is he's a kid that did something silly. He's obviously not a gangster. Real g's don't have time for organized ball.
What kind of a hell hole did you grow up in?

What a non story on the part of the media. What's next? Derrick Rose flashing the middle finger as an 11 year old.
You must be in a gang, Mel?

Rose appearance at obama's campaign rally in Chicago is his worst decision yet. Worse than tatoos or gang signs, he has joined forces with a man who is destroying our country. I, my family, and friends have been Bulls fans since the days of Jerry Sloan and Norm Van Leer, through the Jordan days, and the Heinrich years. BUT NO MORE!!! We are thoroughly disgusted with having the NBA politicized.
