A team that doesn't trade for Amare and a banks part of its future on returning a mental pink snowball at SF. At this rate next season this will still be a backcourt dominated offensive team. The Bulls will have to play at breakneck speed in the playoffs in order to pull any upset.
Awful analysis.
Thanks again!

This is one of those "No duh??" articles. The real question is: How can the Bulls improve their defense in general and away from home in particular?
They don't have any outstanding 1-on-1 defenders. Hinrich and Salmons are the best perimeter defenders and neither is exactly a defensive stopper. Noah and Thomas block shots and hustle but neither strikes fear - or even much concern - into the hearts of decent low-post scorers and slashers.
I keep reading and hearing the generic statements about working hard and being tougher, but with a lack of outstanding 1-on-1 defenders the issue comes down to coaching. Even a squad without good 1-on-1 defenders can play decent team defense with the right coaching. Unfortunately a solid defensive philosophy didn't seem to be a priority this season.
The Bulls have decent athletes and they're young. This combination usually lends itself to double-teaming, full-court pressure, and trapping defense. But I rarely see the Bulls do any of these things. The one thing they do on a regular basis is switch on high screen and rolls, which automatically creates 2 mismatches in the other team's favor: a big defending a quick guard on the perimeter or a guard defending a big man in the post. Teams have been consistently killing the Bulls with that scheme.
Good team defense comes from the application of a solid system and good habits enforced by the coaches, and that has not been evident with the Bulls to this point. Unless VDN has been hiding some defensive tricks up his sleeves or in his hair, I don't see the Bulls' defense getting any better in the playoffs.
Pretty useless post.
And shorten this manure.

What is this love affair with Kirk Hinrich??? He is a POINT GUARD. Period. Folks want to reward him for basically nothing. WE HAD to take Rose in the draft because he is so weak. If he was the starter you guys want to make him, then we wouldn't even be addressing this issue. There is only one player on the team that deserves to START over Gordon and that is Salmons, but he is busy filling in for the other gold-bricker!
You're as stupid here as you are on the Sox boards.
We can't take you anywhere, can we?

Ben Gordon's solid play all season needs to rub of on the other guys. Deng being out has been a good thing because he really dragged the offense down.
You're not very bright, but we've been over this.

Kirk has done things for this time it's just that he has been kept in shadows because every one is talking about d-rose.
