This isn't really where the Lakers need help. Point guard and small forward are the roles needing filled. Plus a bench that can contribute.

Well, our sources said LA wants Hinrich with the deal.He plays great defense and runs a team very well.Josh and Hinrich for Bynum and Artest.Sounds like a good deal to me.If we get Bynum our position to beat the Bulls will be more prominent.I hope they do the deal.

So the Hawks get Gasol and a draft pick?

Alright, say they do a Smith for Gasol deal. Suddenly, you get to put Horford at his natural position at the 4 and you place Gasol at the post.

Sounds to me like the Hawks get the better end of the deal. Atlanta gets instantly better, while LA gets more athletic but not as efficient offensively. Kobe enjoys the fact that Pau is a student of the game. In Smith, you have a guy to freelances too much. The Hawks are a better team when Smith rebounds, not when he out on the perimeter, looking to shoot 30 footers.

If I were a Hawks fan and I could get Gasol for him, I'd throw a party!
