Dude where you get this love fest idea is beyond me.

I don't bash the man or praise him. I challenge you too look back at any post that I have written. I don't proclaim Otis to be the best Gm or the worst. I acknowledge the factual stuff and try to keep the emotions to the minimum. I think you used to do the same as well. but lately, you are bashing him pretty hard. Let's wait and see what happens with Lee. If he is the steal of the draft a lot of people will be on Otis' bandwagon. If not then let the bashing commence.

I know. In the other forum where my sister posts and I just look on there isn't this love fest for Otis not after that messed up draft and now with him screwing around with the free agents.
Besides this forum I am helping to run a website so this one forum is all I can do. Too busy to post elsewhere though my sister does a pretty good job posting. Actually better then me.
I see there still in this weird love fest for Otis. When will they learn, most likely when the ship is sinking they will still be singing his praises lol.

BYU is a great school. I got my Bachelors attending school here @ UCF. contemplating getting my masters degree in Global business mgmt @ Univ of phoenix.
When i was talking about DUKE alumni I was referring to your buddy LMAO
So how good of a university is UCF. I also took some classes at University of Phoenix very hard school, plus even harder online. I averaged an A with them. Oh and they are not cheap, I hope you realize that.
Back to UCF the reason I am asking this I am hoping to finish my degree in Marketing and wondering how good are they in that area. I got really sick and had to put off school, but healthy now and finishing degree means a lot to me. Being near death can really change how a person lives their life you realize that putting things off does not work. So I am a lot more driven now then ever before no more playing around.

So back to what I think about the way everything is shaping up for the Magic.
Well apparently Brand wanted the Clippers to get Davis then he had agreed to come back at less money so the two could be on the same team.
The Warriors almost put a damper on that, but it looks like after a pause from Brand that he will go back to the Clippers.
As a fallback the Warriors are seriously looking at Corey and Dooling. Since both players have the same agent it makes it easier for the Warriors to work out a deal with both players and at more money then the Magic would be able to pay (Corey) or willing (Dooling.
And here some more imformation about the Magic's free agents Carlos is being courted by Denver to name one the teams approaching him plus Evans is being courted by the Greek team that he played for awhile ago. The Greek team would pay Evans more then the Magic are willing too so that would mean that the Magic might just lose all of their own free agents they were thinking about keeping.
And losing all of the free agents they were thinking about.
In Duhon's case the Magic said they were interested, but failed to actually present him with a contract, because they wanted Corey and that has backfired on Otis.
Otis didn't want to pay 200 thousand for a second round draft pick and it hurt the Magic and now his actions in free agency look to hurt the Magic even more.
As almost every team in the East has improved through the draft only Atlanta truly didn't because they didn't have a draft pick and the Magic didn't do all that well either. Only those in the I love Lee camp think that Magic did well.
It should be mentioned that every site I checked said that Lee was not a first round pick, but a second that the only reason some of them moved him to the first round was because the Magic had announced that they were going to pick him.
So the Magic missed on getting a solid big man and yes they missed out on a pg in the draft so that they could get a second rounder in the first round.
So Otis how do you plan on fixing all of this or are you just going to sit and watch the action and see how it plays out!???!!

It has been written that Corey has stated he doesn't want to play for a team that HE has More Tattoos than. So far thats the case in Orlando. Otis Smith is considering all players must have no less than 30 tatts each so that should get Corey to re-think his decisions.

He said that perhaps once the Magic Players start looking like NBA players and get at least 2 dozen Tatts each that he may consider coming to Orlando and shooting the ball a lot.

We hope that things work out for him and he is happy in San Antonio or with the Warriors or hopefully the Celtics so he can maybe score 50 a night against the Magic.
I would think that he might go to Denver as Iverson & Carmello certainly are two of the most covered with Tatts in the league and they could make up for some of the others that only have maybe 2 or 3 Tatts.

Adios Corey!

(1) You dont have to be embrassed that you are not a Duke Grad, and
(2) Be careful taking minutes to yourself...you know how that can become self abuse!

Well, the official signing date is not until the 9th. The Magic basically only have tonight to hit OBT to get that corrected.

82-0,,magic record if they signed duhon
0-82,,magic record since they could not sign duhon...

Give otis and the magic a chance,,Free agency starts tomm..lets see what they do and how everything pans out before we start bashing,,We could have signed any player not named baron or elton and It wouldnt get the magic over the celtics..this is a weak free agency for the most part..there are some big names in next years FA,,we have 118 mill we can use in a sign in trade perhaps..

Otis missed on Duhon and instead got Pietrus what a waste. Because of the lux tax that the DeVos have just said that they won't go over this signing means that Dooling may just be playing for someone else this coming season after all.

Forgot to mention that because of this the Magic now have a major problem at pg like no backup pg. So to the Otis lovers he just flunked once again.

Dooling will be the magics back up pg..You honestly think that duhon would be a better pick up than pietrus??Come on phill,,,I've read your post,,you know better than that..Pietrus can be a bruce bowen who can score inside the three point arc..he has good defense, good three point shooting, offense that doesnt limit him to taking three point shots..He's not the best ball handler, but thats why we got Lee..We have bird rights to dooling so we can still sign him easily,,we also still have the VE which can be used to sign a big like Magloire or Kurt Thomas..We have trade options..We really are not doing to bad this offseason if you think about it and quit letting the draft night get you down,,every knock you have on otis is due to his draft night decision to get lee,,which might now turn out to be a good pick up,,We know now that evans is gone,,probably bogans and JJ as well..And I know that the Magic picked up JJ's option,,but that kept him from being a free agent this offseason,,this makes him an expiring contract..bogans and JJ's salaries match Chris Wilcox,,that could be a possible trade..be optimistic,,,the glass is half full my friend..we could have chris wallace or kevin mchale calling the shots for us you know..

You talk about Redick being a bust, well Pietrus has his chances and he got his minutes and he failed. He is the bust and now he is with the Magic. Hey the Warriors were happy to see him go and I am not just talking about management the fans there were happy to see him leave.
The Magic have not offered Dooling a contract as Dooling has mentioned several times in the last several days. And after this bone head move the Magic now can't afford him because he wants a certain amount of money that would push the Magic over the lux tax threshold and the DeVos family are not willing to do that because it would cost them millions. This also means that Evans is not coming back as well.
So now the Magic have 4 SG's and 1 PG plus they are thin at the PF slot as well. And don't tell me that Battie is going to be the savior for the Magic when he comes back that is simply a oversized joke.

Actually the only player that I see most likely gone of the SG's is Bogans since he has the real trade value since Redick was not used and that hurt his value, plus with the Magic drafting Lee that also hurt Redick's trade value that leaves Bogans as the Magic's trade bait among the SG's plus there are a couple of other players like Cook who could be added to a trade though I wouldn't mind seeing Battie traded as well. He is too slow for the SVG system.
I do see the Magic sticking with 3 SG's like they had last year, this year though I don't think they planned well with the draft and now free agency.

Go back and look at all my post and see if i ever called JJ a bust,,never have. I actually told you that I wanted the magic to trade him so he could play, because it's obvious he's not here. And from a guy who was so high on the duhon talks,,I just dont see how you think getting pietrus is a bad move. The warriors didnt want him because they think they dont need defense to win and they also have half a million guards on their jacked up roster. As for the fans,,who cares. They bought into the crap that high octaine offense is enough to win a championship. well,,,boston won the championship with defense, detroit continues to spank us because of defense, denver bombed in the first round because they play defense as well as a wnba team. a reliable point can be aquired with the VE or trade. the magic had the BEST front line in basketball last season offensively speaking. Battie is a plus not a neccesity. I agree that a point guard is needed, but we still made some big strides to get better and free agency hasnt even officaly started. Quit being a pesimest. XOXOXO

Actually from the play I saw my Pietrus he deserved to be benched. Can't dribble worth a damn and turned the ball over too many times and took shots that were really bad and argued with Head Coach.
A reliable pg gotten cheap yea right unless Livingston actually has recovered from his leg injury I don't see the kind of pg that you are talking about left in free agency.
Sorry about the talk about Redick referred to you.
The Magic didn't need another SG they needed someone like Duhon though I really don't like his private life, but then that's his life and unless it interferrs with his game no problem.
There are a couple of free agents who did really well in Europe and now trying to get into the NBA for the second time that the Magic should look at for pg slot otherwise the Magic are going to be thin there and weak in the PF slot as well Battie is not the answer.
