well im a bit shocked seeing as the knicks are only probably gonna be a contender for the 8th playoff spot may be the 7th. d'antoni's style is a run and gun not much for defense that why he lost against the spurs when he was with the suns and adding one defensive guy isnt gonna help them.

time to call up pietrus!!!!

i've seen the knicks make a move for eddie house we could probably do the same and give them a little competition say about 2.5 starting bid for a 3 years or 1.8 mil for the same amount of years.

seems also that the magic were interested in James Posey, why not make a move for him as well.

speaking about knicks c/pf 6'11 randolph morris might be a good slot filler for us.

another pg we could look at is on the the nuggets summer league roster 6'3 G jamont gordon ( ive heard he's a defensive minded player as well).

Conflicting report. Sporting News said the Knicks paid him the whole mid-level exception! Sheesh.

Glad we didn't overpay. Next!

wow what an idiot, he chose to play for a team that is in a rebuilding phase that for a team that should be a contender and also give up the chance to play alongside a budding superstar in Dwigh Howard, what an idiot. I just dont see Maggette signing for the MLE, seems like the Spurs might lock him up with a better offer

I'm not surprised. Duhon was guaranteed a starting job in New York where here he would almost definitely be the number two guy. Regardless of money, athletes want to play, no fault in that.

With that being said, Dooling will now make a lot more money than he originally hoped because the Magic will be forced to pay him whatever he asks.

Finally, the Magic have the entire Mid-Level Exception to try and chase down Corey Maggette. I think the deal worked out OK for the Magic. We'll see what the Magic do with he money.

Good for Chris! He did have dinner with Jameer but he hung out with JJ and stayed overnight at JJ's.
Guess what inside info he was privy to...yes all the things that are wrong with the Magic.
Once he saw how this "so called" contender is operated and coached there was never a doubt he would play here. Dont forget folks Chris also has a 4 year degree from Duke.
Smart people always will whup on dumb people. Now if JJ can get traded to the Knicks as I have wished for all along things will be GREAT!

If he did go for the full MLE why would he be an idiot? It ain't like the magic are gonna win a championship with him anyways.

You are such an idiot!!!!

I guess a degree from Duke doesn't mean that you're very smart, if you're will to take less money to play for a loser, than to make more money and at least man-up and try to push for a starting job on a winning team. Then again, if he stays overnight at J.J's maybe that should all tell us something about the good-old "Duke Boys." Maybe a cat fight between Chris, J.J, and you, LMAO! Now I guess we know where you get your so-call "inside information." Dude, you're just like your mom, always on your knees!!!

I try to give Otis the benifit of the doubt. i really do. I'm a Magic fan and my fanhood says, he'll do something...right? Every team it seems is doing something...except us.

Even if we do have a better season then last season we arent going to get any better by being scared to pull the trigger. Hedo will not beplaing for Orlando come the 09-10 season...count on it. He will opt out and want more loot. our big cash is locked up in D12(thankfully) lewis(overspent but 18 every game) and Jameer? Yes thats where the mistake was made. How many more will otis make?

agree with the above!!!

but just to solve the issue....i think we should definitely hunt down Pietrus and sign his ass....cuz even if Hedo leave next year....we'll have D12, rashard, nelson, lee and him to count on for future years!!........for bench i think Kurt Thomas, Magliore would be good options behind battie!!........and yeah Maggette WILL NOT COME FOR MLE!! here trust me.....SA will make sure he signs with them....they needa beat the lakers next year and they are smart and preparing for it already!
