YOu know what....My BAD!...I should have said, "They might beat us but they aint jack THIS YEAR!!!"
And you know what, I give them all the props...they are definitely one of the very close knit teams able to stay with their core for a long term. This is what every eastern team trying to be like. No doubt.
But Detroit are not what as they were say 2yrs ago. They are on the downside and teams should not be intimidated as much.
Thats all i'm saying.
I think Orlando has the talent and the core that can beat detroit but the maturity and experience factor will take them down.
Detroit kills us at the guard play and thats it!!
But again with all that said, no doubt it all has to go through detroit.
Hey we spent years beating up against the Lakers and the Celtics before we broke through. Nowadays it takes a long building process to put the pieces together - occasionally you get a Miami team that has what it takes but then can't sustain it. I don't believe this 7 man rotation will take you to the promised land unless the sun the moon and the stars all line up for you. You need for each position on the floor to be able to stand up on its own at least once during every game. In other words - no real weak link that can be exploited every night. Does Orlando have that - I don't think so. Every player has an off night - but if they have an off series - they gotta go. You want to know what it will take to get to the top - look at the box scores after this series - it will be obvious. Can you say GUARD.

No doubt....the GUARD area is kicking out butt and also the PF area. But i'm sure those areas will get some kind of tweaking this summer. But I think this team as it is playing combo guard and unorthodox PF position can get it done.
Now will they go all the way?? Off course NOT! But can they beat the pistons or come close to it?? I think they definitely CAN!
Detroit, still is a great team. But I think they are bored now. They get lazy a lot and forget what they are doing multiple times hence the Philly series.

BOTTOM LINE, says ESPN:

The Pistons are a year older and have added some youth to their bench. The Magic are a year wiser and have added veteran scoring. This series is full of great matchups, scorers at every position and contrasting styles. The Magic will threaten and give the Pistons all they can handle in every game, but look for Detroit to survive and move on to the Eastern Finals once again.
Prediction: Detroit 4, Magic 3

I hate to say, they predicted Magic/Toronto series on the ball every game to game.!! But they did say 6-2 Magic on that one.
