Timberwolves fall to Thunder 117-107 in Oklahoma City

Jeff Green was tired. Kevin Durant admitted the same. The two were coming off injured ankles and didn't know how they would react Monday night against the Timberwolves in their first game back. Full Story

Couple huge brutal non-calls down the stretch but the wolves have to overcome those and play better if they want to turn the corner. Love got a two-handed shove in the back as he was receiving a post pass against westbrook - ball goes off him and out of bounds. Westbrook was trying to foul him because he was mismatched in the post. Clear foul well before the inbounds pass in the last minute. Officials conferred and decided it was after the ball had left the inbounder's hands. Wolves should have had two free throws and the ball. Disappointing to see them take quick bad shots in that last minute. They need a better plan of attack.

Let see, we played close game with them in first half, 44- 46 he takes big man Darko (who had at that time only 2 fouls if fouls were concern) out suddenly they go on run and how they did it, slam dunks, alley-oops they score inside at will. They made us looking silly. Now, the best coaching part, Darko is playing we are cutting lead, playing through Darko(phenomenal game again), they cant stop him, he scores, dunks, passes the ball, box out so KLove should give him at least 5-6 rebounds back and we are running over them, they are stunned, we have a lead. Everything is running smoothly through Darko offense. and around 5- 6 minutes to go with I quess it was six points lead, change in offense strategy. Darko in the last 6 minutes got the ball passed inside only ONCE. Kevin Love shoots threes and misses and now Kevin Beasley, man he is ok scorer, but he cant guard nobody,to many turnovers they score on him, KLove, Telfair WHO???, Brewer at will. And add to those guys W.Johnson who is by far the biggest disappointment then we do not have a team. We need a smart, good, reliable point guard who passes first and then shoot and plays defense. What Westrbrook did yesterday to our guard was ridiculous. Nuff said.

....and just another stupid comment by "just another day in loserville"

The wolves played a competitive game, rallying from almost 20 down in the third. Somewhere along the line they have to learn how to finish as this is the third time in the last two weeks that they have had control of a game only to watch it slip away.

Darko played another really strong game and seems to have turned the corner. The pass to Love was absolutely brilliant, and a couple of the low post spin moves looked very polished. It is nice to see a smile on Darko's face.

Westbrook was the difference in this game. The wolves were unable to stop him in the open court, and unable to stop his penetration in the half court. Put Westbrook on the wolves and they are probably a playoff team right now.

The game was much closer than the final score would indicate as OKC padded the margin in the final 90 seconds. The wolves are much more watchable than last year. After five seasons without a ray of sunshine, or realistic hope for the future, we can finally see that the playoffs are not all that far away.

Where are the Pioneer Press sports writers??? I am tired of reading articles by the Associated Press. The Trib manages to get an article written by an actual person on their payroll - within minutes of the end of the game. Why can't the PPress? Disgraceful!

That said, I still want "just another day" to go away and stay away. If he couldn't enjoy watching that game last night, he has no love of the game. That over-the-head pass of Darko's to Love had me jumping out of my chair! He also did a head fake and a spin to lay the ball in the basket - absolutely beautiful to watch. There is more to being a fan than supporting only a team that is winning. The Wolves are MY team and I am a fan, win or lose. I admit it hasn't been a lot of fun the last few years, but watching what they are becoming this year is worth the wait.

I agree - the game was taken away from us by two lousy calls by the refs, but that is the way it goes with playing on the road and with being a young, unproven team - fair or not - you don't get the calls. Go Woofies!!!

They've used them all huh? I'll bet you don't even watch the Wolves. You listen to people bash the Wolves on ESPN and KFAN(where you get all of your "knowledge") and then write comments like the one above. You are an ignorant fool. Have a nice day.

Wolves not in the same league watching them find a way to lose the lead in the last few minutes. They are a group of players but certainly not a team to be taken seriously.

Conservative - They have played less than 20 games together. They are young. Did you expect them to play like the Celtics or the Lakers who have been together for years and have a long history together? Get real! For a young "group" just learning to play together, they are doing pretty well. Let's cut them some slack and provide some time for them to grow together - without the negative comments.

I was making a truthful observation proven out over 15+ years, Mike. Thanks for the personal attack. I am sure you are among St. Paul's finest. I hope you and your family have a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!:)
