Good Business ??? He'll lose nearly 60% of his earnings to taxes in NY...
And actually Denver has some of the Best Fan Support, for ALL of its Major League Sports, in ALL of Pro Sports. Its just tough to get the State Controlled Media to pay much attention out here.
Its certainly up to him... but be careful what you ask for...

i think mellow is a fool to leave denver. its probably more his wifes decision than his. she has no career in denver so she wants la. or new york. its just gonna hurt his career.he keeps talking about loyalty, yet he has none, except to himself. i own alot of #15 mechandise and i will burn them when he leaves. he has dissapointed alot of people. if he wants to leave fine, i wont shed a tear my nuggets are still here and we will win without him

"All men haunted by the vastness of eternity" If he wants to be relevant in terms of NBA history he has to make a move. Miami didn't just team up 3 elite players, they changed the way teams will have to be put together for the next 10 to 12 years (starting with the 2012 season) Its going to be mirror the current state of Major League Baseball. A few have's and a bunch of have not's. He could stay in Denver and be this generations Dominique Wilkins, while he watches his two best friends go on and capture pro basketball immortality or he could leave to a bigger market team that has more money to spend and who can attract other big name superstar players. Lets be real, this current Denver team may be the 5th or 6th best team in the west. Their second best player is in his mid 30's, Their big men can't play a full season, They don't know what the future will hold for their coach, ownership is getting the reputation for being a joke, and their own players are publicly questioning their commitment to improving the roster. From a business and basketball standpoint, why should he stay in Denver? Because the fans want him too is not a valid answer.

I will hate to see Melo go, it's going to SUCK, but he is better off going to New York or where ever he may end up because the Nuggets management does not know how to build a championship team and lets face it, the team is heading down hill. Melo is no Jordan and cannot not do it with what hes got. He will have Staudemire and probably and most likely, CP3 to make New York a dominate team once again. It's all about the East now!

Hopefully they get something good in return when they trade him. People are quick to forget that a couple of badly timed injuries and George Karl leaving for cancer treatment probably killed the best season the Nuggets could have had. They were better than the year before.
