thats not quite true...id rather have a run of 4 titles every nine years like the spurs had, then a run of three in a row, and then none since then...personally i think that a team that can sustain that high level of play fro 9 years, is more impressive then a team that only rides two players for 3 years.
When you win it b2b, there is no question as to your dominance. There is no "you guys were a fluke" or "You guys had a nice Cinderella year". it shuts all naysayers up and anyone left talking is a punk. Thats not to say that what he spurs have done is meaningless--its still impressive but consecutive titles places you in the stands with the precious few hence, the Elite.

WERE that good Jeebs. The spurs have my respect, theyve got 4 rings, but the time for championships is in the past as they cannot contend with the likes of the Lakers or the cavs as evidenced today. Theyre just too old now.
Only the Elite win Back 2 back titles too Jeebs...
they cant compete anymore? same thing was said there in last 2 championships. apparently they didnt have a chance against detroit in 05' and same thing was said against denver, phoenix, and utah in the playoffs in 07'. and i would take 4 championships over a 3-peat anyday because last i knew 4 was better than 3.

Thats was then jeeby this is now. these guys do get older each year in case ya didnt know and 4 rings sounds better 2, but somewhere in there you need consecutive titles at least once. check out the teams regarded as elite besides the lakers and name the ones who have done so prior to them. i find that the ones who havent done this tend to disagree...go figure.

i hate to bring this up, but kobe is CLEARLY not the MVP and he is proving that down the stretch of the season so far...

over the past 11 games he is only averaging 21 points, 5.2 assists, 4.6 rebounds, 3 To's and is only shooting 40% from the field...

i would give kobe the ball in the last 10 seconds down 1-2 over lebron or d wade 9 out of 10 times...but, there is NO WAY that he deserves the MVP this season.

what im trying to say is that nobody thought they could compete anymore after the championship in 03' and then won it in 05'. after 05' everybody they had to be done for sure and then did it again in 07'. they have been doubted for a while and they still came through. the point is, never turn your back on them because they might just do it again. and if i had a choice in my team to win 4 championships or have a 3-peat, i would definitely take the 4 championships. the only reason i think the lakers were so dominant for those three years was because they had kobe and shaq together.

i thought you could only go up to 100%. and by doing a little math, you have a 135% chance of the spurs or cavs winning it. i dont see how the celtics have any chance if those calculations and probabilities are correct.

I did give them the chance. I just think their time has passed now simply because injuries and age more than ever has caught up to them. It Happens. Still, youre right, anything can happen but in probability, they wont win the championship. I also agree with the Lakers being so dominant because of the dynamic duo in shaq and Kobe, but like I said before, theres usually is a 1-2 punch to great teams i.e, Micheal and Scotty.
