What a joke this is, voting in someone who missed most of the first half. Its a slap in the face for the players who deserve the honor. If Shaq had any class at all, he would decline to play in the game . To all the fans who voted for this clown to start, go S.A.D.....

Shaq always looks good sitting on the bench in his expensive suits.

Shaq is not ready for this game..He looks like he has retired and is trying to make a comback.

I think his days as an all star are long past gone
Right now Mourning is more of a star than Shaq..

we already know how stupid this country is getting with ignorant people like you voting for a player who hasn't played most of the season. So when you get Shaq's johnson out of your mouth, come up with a better reason explaining how he is the best center in the league to be starting the game ......

I have to agree. It's pretty stupid to vote for a guy who didn't play and didn't seem to put much effort into getting back. It's a shame that a hard working player like Zo didn't get voted in. The guy is what...2nd in the league in blocks? And this coming from a guy who was supposed to be finished?? Shaq should do everyone a favor and stay home and continue to rehab....

There should be restictions set in place. A player should only be nominated as an All-star if he's played in at least 80% of the games for the first half of the season. I love Shaq, and I think Yao Ming is great. But neither have played and both voted in.

MORE PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE UNDERSTOOD THE RULES AS I DID AND VOTED FOR "BILL RUSSEL".

Game belongs in Las Vegas now!

I agree how could someone who has not played it what almost 2 months be voted in. How fair is this to those other big men who have been playing in almost every game and are being over looked. This is what happens when you have money Shaq your time is up be the bigger man and give your spot to someone who truly deserves it.

Congratulations to Dwayne & Shaq for being voted in as the NBA All-Star Game starters. You BOTH deserved it.

I'm just glad that none of the Mavs were selected. I did think that some Suns like Nash or Stoudamire might make it in the west, but they will probably be reserves.

I believe that Alonzo & Udonis should be selected as eastern reserves.

When you win the World Championship, you deserve to have more players selected than any other team. And, by the way, the HEAT will REPEAT in '07.

Hey guys its called www = WORLDWIDE web for a reason!

Yao Ming will have picked up many votes from China. Shaq is the most widely recognized player outside of the Americas and will have got his fair share as well.

Actually its us fans (me included) who are the most stupid. We still pay to go to the games - which pays the players directly. We watch avidly on TV - which pays the players indirectly due to all the horrendous commercials that we have to endure ...
How many people said "I'm not going to watch Shaq because he didn't work and has a lousy work ethic"? Come on - be honest! If he delivers another championship or even get the Heat to the finals we will all flock back. What do you think the owners should do - sack him for non performance?

If we want to stop this nonsense we have to start boycotting professional sports - especially on TV - as painful as this will be for most of us fans.
