BOSTON With the price of fuel these days, what a shame to waste so much of it to fly the Lakers all the way across America simply to suffer their inevitable fate in a different time zone.

"Even as a shadow of his former self in the 1998 Finals against Utah, there was no stopping Jordan or turning him into a glorified traffic cop. Jordan smelled his sixth title and went about getting it, regardless of his surroundings."

MJ shot 42.7% in the 1998 Finals, 30.8% from the three point line while average 33.5 points on 27 shots.

Yes, the Bulls won, but the story was the team defense of the Chicago Bulls.

Doc Rivers is a better coach than Phil Jackson in this series and the Celts are a better team than the Lakers, contrary to the view of many so-called experts. Smart money says that will continue in Boston and Koby will not be enough. Look for a monster game by Kevin Garnett. Celts by 5 in game 6.

MJ's greatest strength was his will power. You can post numbers and compare them to what a younger Kobe is doing in this championship, but it doesn't matter. Especially the last 2 games, it is clear to see that Kobe has allowed the Celtics to impose their will on him. Jordan did the opposite.
All due respect to the Celtics, but MJ had to battle the Knicks, Pacers, Heat, Cavs, Pistons and old Celtics JUST to make it to the Finals. These teams were equally if not better defenses than the current Celtics (Knicks, Heat, & Pacers definitely better....the rules back then allowed much more physical play). I am a die hard Knicks fan(sorry), but I would like these comparisons to MJ to stop. Just appreciate that we witnessed the greatest.
