First and foremost, I like the approach the Pacers are taking here. As a Pacers fan for life(must admit fondess of Bulls pre-championship and titled teams, and also post), the fallout of greatness hurts. Reggie Miller was a hero among heros. He deserved a better opportunity during his last year. Fact of the matter is, he is gone. Boo-hoo!!
The Pacers are in trouble. Everything that could go wrong did. Despite executive leadership on an extreme magnitude, the franchise was destined to crumble, as the night in the palace foretold a much deeper spell ahead. I can remember the instant it happened being amazed before my eyes only to realize as things unfolded how unfortunate things were about to come. Our team stuck together, but it was all for the wrong reasons. Our stars behaved as comradery would insist: Take your fellows back whatever the cost. However, a little brotherly insight would suggest making more insightful moves. I only hope that the Rush family can push each other to the limit, while drawing off of each other to maintain cool heads as families so often will do. I am cautious, as the history of modern day family bonds with teams have not proved overwhelmingly succesful. Take Carter and McGrady for example. Both great talents with bright futures, but something just couldn't coexist to allow a desperately needed "calm" order to a wild ball club. How will brothers on the same team perform? Both in similar roles..? I believe there were a single sets of twins during the 70s that played together. Granted, those guys shared a lot deeper bond than some brothers, but surely a sense of preservation for the other existed on some brotherly level. I welcome the opportunity to try something of this sort. Why not? We've went from superior caliber championship guns to academy trainees. As to the comradery that existed prior to the brawl.. Man, sorry to see Jermaine ultimately waste some of his primetime years here. Hey, all I can say is we thought we had a true shot for a while! One can only hope our Pacers moves are versatile enough for a franchise to regain footsteps on the quickly aspiring east conference. Hindsight and second guessers always have the upper hand, but what shall we do to rebuild when scouted talent fails to support the arguably proven? Good luck, brothers! Signing off, AC from Indy |

Rush Brothers could be another good tandem just like the Davis brothers were.
