Wade Watchers: Sonics say refs don't call it even

Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

MIAMI Add Sonics coach Bob Hill to the list of Dwyane Doubters. Two years ago, it was Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas questioning the outside shooting of Heat guard Dwyane Wade.

Well, it's very obvious that Wade travels alot. But I've seen him consistently get away with it in both the NBA and in FIBA. The reason?

Most refs don't understand what travelling is when a player utilizes drop- and jump-stops very fast with interchanging of pivot feet. Shaq also does this a lot, and rarely gets called for it. So technically, it's a gray area. Not exactly "legal travelling," but ypu'll never really be cited for it.

This article tries to combine two different issues--1) refs inability to recognize pivot shuffling during jump stops and 2) Wade getting a lot of free throws in the Finals. Clumping them together to incite anger amongst the masses (just read the comment above mine) shows how disingenuous it is.

Because of Wade's abilities, clubs love to put two and three guys on him at a time. When you doing this constantly, you are going to send "Any" player to the foul line a lot. This is NOT special treatment. This is taking advantage of opportunities that are given. Just stay off of him!!!!

You're absolutely right. There is bound to be a foul anytime ANY player has 2 or more bodies on them.
Whoever complains about how other players play most likely are doing so because they feel inferior or insecure about their own game. Losers!

im from the seattle area, though an avid shaq and heat fan, but i remember all the articles in the paper after the finals with bob hill, the sonics coach, praising dwyane wade for reachin the line so much in the finals. he counted all the times wade did this and showed his team, imposing rashard and ray to attack the basket instead of launch 3's. now hes complaining, why didnt he use his timeout after wades free throw? but it is a sad thing they are taking the sonics away from seattle this year, its final, they are goin bye bye.

But how bout dorell, he keeps this up im talkin 6th man or most improved player. and i have stated this before, but imagine the heat with rashard in antoines place, that would be sweet. wade, dorell, rashard, haslem, and shaq. once shaq retires get a good runnin center in there and you have a few more rings.

Get rid of Antoine Walker. He can't shoot the three. He turns the ball over in traffic. He won't pass the ball. He does not know how to play defense.
