Bottom line...no defense. Raptors were fresher and had more energy. But I don't put all the blame on players. Van Gundy needed to make adjustments and he didn't. Pick and roll accounted for about 75% of raptors points. DH will continue to grow....I think Spurs made the best trade of all. Magic don't get past 2nd rd with this team. They need a true PF. Peatreaus?????
One bad game dont mean Jack...we all know this team can play much better than that....lets keep our pants up shall we.
You live and learn...its called overconfidence after beating the Deeeetroit BAaaaaasketball.
Oh...and I doubt Peatrus is a PF, is he?
And, he wants to be a guaranteed starter and thats why he wants out of Gstate.

Also, Jim you wrote if they Magic play the Raptors in the playoffs they would get swept. I seriously doubt it. Remember, we beat them in their house already once this season and I have a feeling we are going to want some revenge in two weeks at home.
Tonight's game was kind of a reversal of last night's game.
Thank You Coccoa...REVERSAL Indeed.
This game dont mean Jack. They jsut wanted to come out and show SUPERMAN what they can do. While SUPERMAN, after beating detroit thought he was a SUPERHUMAN.

Understatement JIM.
More appropriately, Calderon Stripped US and BOSH Raped us.

How did we miss on Thomas. Even I'm getting mad at Otis's inability to get another big! How the hell can you not trade some expiring contracts to a team that wants them?
Ummm..because umm...it takes 2 teams to make a trade and it has to make sense for other teams too. SPURS was a better trade...they get 2 guys who can help them too and expiring. Our expiring contracts was just that... expiring.

They never could get past both Boston or Philly. Some years they would beat one of them but they could never beat both in the playoffs. I will always be a Packer fan though. I bleed green and gold.

it really is hilarious you guys who post on here...against detroit it was because they had a bad night, not crediting the magic while last night it was because toronto played really well, not that the magic played bad...i just love the double standards you guys post to prove ur points. Now with losing this one game were going to be 5th in the conference and get swept out of the 1st round...gees what i would not give for some real fans in this city, cya

I may be wrong but I think a draft choice was involved too and the Magic cant trade their choice this year per NBA rules. That made SA offer better than the Magics. They didnt lose the trade because Otis sucks as a GM. That just shows how little the guy who posted that comment knows about the NBA. Good comment from OMagic

Otis this is the results of making bad decisions. The biggest one giving so much money to Nelson, a non-point guard that is now force to manage a real group of players. For now I don't see what you were thinking on building this guy, with this group of players. Howard, Turkoglu and Lewis need at least a good supporting cast to make a good playoff run.

This just became official folks regarding a trade by the Orlando Magic...ahh..they did NOTHING!!!
Good job Otis. Way to sure up our power forward situation. Way to go out there and get that bigger point guard. Yup it is what it is folks. And it will be another first round exit from the playoffs.

After tomorrow nights embarassing loss to Philadelphia in Orlando Otis will realize how big of a mistake he made by not making a trade after we get abused by another bigger guard. This time it will be Andre Miller who has a feast against the Magic. And Iguodala will have a big game too.
Dont forget folks, the schedule may be soft for the remaining schedule, but the Magic are even softer. And that will translate into a sub .500 finish the rest of the way. They will win 45 or 46 games at best this year and get trounced in the first round no matter who they play. Simply put there is absolutely no fight in this team. When the heat is turned up they wilt like a daisy in the afternoon sun. There is no real solid leader on this team to step up and smack some sense into them.

We were crappy last night and decided to pack it in on the way to Toronto apparently. I guess getting one win on this trip was good enough for our boys. We arent professionals yet, we pummel the pistons and then get destroyed by the Raptors? What kind of bs is that? We decided we didnt really want to play last night and gave the raptors the win. Howard can guard Bosh if he wants to, but they look more interested in playing horse with each other than competing/stopping each other.

Best post of the day!

All the real Magic fans already know that the team is pretty good right now.
Yes, they still need to fill the roster with few good pieces to be a really good team, and solve their bigger problem right now: inconcistency!

Hopefully, this weakness would be healed with more time playing together, one or two veteran players that will lead by example, or only by a better attitude coming playoff time.

A real fan cannot hate this team, is way better that any of the last few seasons, still young and with a lot of room to improve.

<quoted text>Chris the Magic will in fact lose on Friday night against Philadelphia. They are playing a lot better basketball recently. The Magic will come out flat as usual and Philapdelphia will be very aggressive. Look for Andre Iguodala to have a big game along with Andre Miller. I would not be surprised to see SVG pitching numerous fits on the sideline conjuring up images of Bobby Knight, while the liquored up crowd hurls numerous insults.
There you go, stick to predicting losses. It works out well for the Magic.

I just read all things said on here and I would never have believed that so many people from Puerto Rico write in here. Thats pretty nifty.
I wonder why the coach doesnt play the bench guys very much? I mean it's all tall guys for the other team and the Magic they have the short guys playing instead of taller guys. I bet thats why they lost.
Although the short guys are cute too. Most people I talk with about the team say that because JJ Redick doesnt play and Mr. Arroyo that is why they lose? And Mr.Smith doesnt play but they say it's his fault a lot. Beats me?
I hope they win against the 76's because I went there once and it was an awful place, and dont believe that Philly Cheesesteaks are all that! They are pretty bad!
Well Good Luck Magic!
You're funny. Better get used to the rican comments.

For a good example of a solid leader I point to KG in Boston. That dude plays every second of every game as though his life depended on it. He is always barking out instructions to his teammates and getting them into the right sets on the floor.
You dont have to be big to be a leader. You dont have to be small to be a leader. You have to have the heart of a champion to be a leader. It is all about that desire to win. You have to want it more than the other team. Then you just go out there and get it done. No excuses. And if anything or anyone gets in your way while trying to get to what you want then you just go around them or you go through them. It is that simple. If you are all about winning then nothing else matters. There has to be that fire and that passion which burns from within that ultimately propels you to a higher level above the rest. Can I get an amen on up in here ?

Did anybody see what the ROCKETS did?
The Kind of trades they pulled in the last minute?
They send BONZI/Mike JAMES for 35yr old, Bobby Jackson from NO.

Thank you OTIS for not doing anything drastic. Better not do anything then doing something crazy like sending HEDO for Brad Miller...Hellooooo?
We'll stick with what we have and enjoy this young squad. Yes, we are inconsistent but who cares...We are winning...suprising ppl and still room for improvement.
Gooooooooo MAGIC!!

WOW...The CAVS just rocked the world with the last minute bonanza.

Just a couple of points.
1. To make a trade just to make a trade is not good policy. Seattle added a draft choice which we cant do to get Thomas. Cleveland may have just buried its team into never never land. I am sure Chicago is giddy over that deal.
2. I constantly see guys saying if we just trade the guys at the end of the bench for a starter we could be better. HOW STUPID CAN YOU GET. You dont get starters or quality players trading non role players. Expiring contracts only work with a very small group of teams if any. Even then you usually have to take back a bad contract player or give up a 1st round draft pick.
3. Even though teams normally dont win championships without a true PF, it has been done. The Milwaukee Bucks did it with a guy named Greg Smith. He wasn't a true PF but he fit the team he was on. The traded for a traditional PF and never made it back with that group again.
4. I have not seen posts of people expecting a NBA championship with this group. We are a team that will get into the playoffs and win a series or two. The most important thing this group needs is experience in the playoffs. Which guys hold up and which ones cant.
5. The only PF that fits a long term view would have been Udonis and I doubt Riley's terms were acceptable to the Magic.
6. Patience is a virtue and the reason it is a virtue is very few people have it. You can tell by the posts written here that the anti magic crowd do not have that.
7. I wish Otis could have made a trade but no trade may have been better for now. I keep pointing to Mitch in LA as being patient and he picked up sevaral good deals. Cleveland, Phoenix, and Dallas got desperate and may have destroyed their futures with very iffy trades. Ben Wallace is finished, Shaq talks big but his contributions are now limited, and Dallas traded a good young point guard and two first round picks for a 35 year old guy who is showing signs of not being able to do it anymore.
8. Disappointed we couldnt get a deal done, some, but not at the expense Dallas, Cleveland, and Phoenix. None of those trades were for the better long term needs of the team.
