This team has too many substandard defenders. Neither Telfair nor Foye pressure the ball, nor stop penetration into the lane. You should be able to do one, or the other. Miller usually puts out effort, but is a bit slow when has has to check 2's. Last night not was a high effort night for Miller. Jefferson is getting better, but good defense is still an afterthought for him. McCants doesn't care at all.

I would go with the Telfair, Miller, Brewer, Love, Jefferson combo and tell them that they are my guys as long as they play as hard on defense as they play on offense. Let idiots like McCants rot on the bench until he gets it.... which means he will rot on the bench as he will never "get it". A trade should probably be made sometime this year as McCants is a free agent after this season and is not likely to stay.

Foye can back up at PG and SG. Carney will give honest effort as a backup at SF. Either Smith or Gomes needs to step up at PF.

I would hate to be a coach/GM in today's NBA. The players make so much money, so soon in their careers, that you can't use any tool other than playing time to motivate them. Even then, so many are happy to sit and collect their check that even sitting them down doesn't necessarily work. If you think that pride would be a motivating tool then you are obviously from a different generation.

Who cares? Team, owner, players, uniforms, all suck! Nice job again on the draft day. Can someone PLEASE put him out of his misery? This is embarrassing.

Five games into the season and it's over. Wasn't this supposed to be an improving team? The writers can save their time and energy by posting this same story for everyone of the Wolves losses.

this is a horrible defensive team. brewer is the only one who plays consistently intense defense but his offensive ineptitude more than counterbalances anything he does on that end.

Winning on the road in the West is not easy for young teams with weak bench play.

This is a young team who will get better in the 2nd half of the season but will still fall short of winning 30 games.

The next two drafts will be good one's for the Wolves as the other teams out west grow older and need to retool.

The Wolves are 2 years away from contending in the Western Conference so I say don't jump off the bridge after every loss.

This team needs a leader at point guard and an athletic guy in the mode of Marion, Artest, Deng, or Igoudala at the 3 spot. Miller, Love and Jefferson are fine. Make a trade now for Deng and you have a championship team in the making. Chicago is loaded for talent but they don't have enough minutes for all of them. Next year go hard after Iverson and you are probably fighting the Lakers for the Division Championship. Trade Foye and McCants for someone like Ben Wallace or Marc Gasol to give the team some toughness. There's the blueprint. Good Luck.

jefferson, mccants, cardinal and the boston first round pick to clippers for kaman, mobley and rights to wolves first round pick owed to clippers back.
can have...
kaman c/
love pf/
brewer sf/
mobley sg/
telfair pg/
foye/ smith/ gomes/ miller/ collins/ madsen/ carney/ ollie/ booth off the bench.

key is getting back that pick.
with the wolves playing so well, it could be a top three again.
the boston pick looks like it should be a very low first rounder.

LOL, No kidding, right? I completely agree. Randy Wittman is almost as incompetent a coach as the Democrats in Congress are incompetent in spending.

Memphis will not give up Marc Gasol. This organization needs to start the rebuilding process at the top. Starting with the owner & working down(and out) for the country club. We have some good players that are not improving. I wish we still had Dwane Casey coaching this team, anyone other than Randy Whitless would be a definite upgrade.
Casey was 52-70 when he was let go. Wittless is 35-95 as the coach of this team. ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!

Now can I say, to some of those idiots who critisized me before and after the draft, I told you so.
O.J. Mayo is looking really good, and the trade, while Love is okay, will ultimately be remembered as another bust.(Except for the two players the Wolves finally got rid of, which is proving to be the trade's best feature to date for the Wolves.)
Couldn't you wait until Mayo put up the stats and then trade him for more?
And to those of you who say the Wolves shouldn't have drafted a guard and did not want Mayo... are you still kidding me? Have you actually seen Foye's and McCants #s? Nothing like jacking up 1/3 of your team's shots and killing the team game after game. Another OT loss to the Warriors. Ho-hum. Get used to it baby. Now O.J. Mayo can join the list of players, like Roy and Allen, that the Wolves had, but then cut loose to keep guys like Foye, Starbury, McCants, et al.
Too funny!!!
