If this team is all banged up now and the regular season hasn't even started yet, How is O'Neil and the rest of the team going to be in one month or two months?

The only good thing I see about this season is, when it is over, maybe they will get a lottery pick and start building the roster up with good players again.

J O not playing due to an injury. How original! Ok Larry - which excuse are you going to use? Make a numbered list of excuses and publish it in the Star. That way when you use an excuse you can just reference a number. That saves time.

Attention Indianapolis Star Human Resouce Department--- To save money, archive this article and fire the guy who wrote it.

Then in October 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011,(wait, does anyone know how long J.O's contract lasts?), pull out the archived article and print it.

You save money, but you waste our time telling us what we already know

Instead of criping again, look at the positive. I think Ike is a starter in the making, and he needs lots of playing time to get there. Why not in the first of the season? He can only get better. This situation also gives the reserves more playing time. I think it doesn't hurt now.

As far as reoccurring injuries, it sounds like to me there is a lack of proper conditioning. Instead of criping about them being injured all the time, maybe you could suggest that the Pacers need to get a better strength and conditioning trainer. A star player being continually on the DL is not acceptable.

Cut them both and start over. Oh ya, Murphy and O'neal make over 25 mil a year, can't cut them. Nice move Larry bringing in that clown and sticking by O'neal and Tinsley. Only a matter of days before he goes down as well. They are making it hard for us fans. Sorry Mark, see no positive in this.

Trade O'Neal. He's horrible!!! I guarantee Pacers will win tomorrow night with him out of the lineup, O'Neal being hurt is the best thing to happen to this ball club!!

So what is new with O'Neal? He misses more games than he play and the ones he plays he dogs it most of the time. They couldn't even find someone to take him off of their hands over the winter. What a loser.

And this is exactly why I should have learned my lesson about getting excited about the Pacers. I'm not just picking on O'Neal here, but how can you expect to be a good team when you don't play more than 70% of your games with your starters? How many games did Reggie miss in his entire career? THIS is why it's hard to be a Pacer fan not all the off the court stuff. Those complaining about that stuff aren't fans just people who like to complain.

It might be wise to keep Courtney Sims.

Let's see, they got Murphy because you, the knowledgeable fans, begged the Pacers to get Stephen Jackson out of town no matter what we got in return. When you make a trade out that is that reactionary, or out of a desire to temporarily placate the fans, this is what you get in return. Remember that as you agitate to run O'Neal out of town three years before his contract is up.

This is going to give people a chance to see just how good Diogu is. He will put up JO numbers with him out and could be the Pacers long term PF for the future. He can run better than JO and is more active around the basket, though he is not the defensive presence JO is right now.

You lose Murphy's three point shot, but you gain in rebounding and hustle with Foster.

Could be a win win with them out in the short term. You cant play in this up tempo offense with a bad knee. Its less about who is on the floor than how good they are physically on the floor. Just look at the Suns. Not saying the Pacers are as fluid as the Suns, but that is the general direction they are heading offensively. You need to keep your backcourt healthy in this system. The frontcourt is less important comparitively.

I am thinking 42-40 and they are a 5 or 6 seed.

People will be suprised at how hard this team competes and how exciting there offense is to watch. It will be something we havent seen in a few years.
