Of course the agen for Petrius says "Mickael could have gotten more money somewhere else". Yeah right! This guys stats suck and he is injury prone. Way to over pay for another player. Nelson 6year/36mil, Lewis 6 years/118mil, Petrius 4years/25mil, watching the Magic not progress into a next level team.....TORTURE!

i want to see what otis' final product looks like at the start of training camp. i never thought that dooling would be out, except in the case of the magic's attempt to get duhon, a pure point who could have challenged and possibly have taken jameer's job. hate to see dooling go.

Read the article. MP is not getting 25M. But you are the type that will complain no matter what the salaries are because you are probably stuck in some minimum wage job and are just jealous that you have no market value. |

This is a good signing. I can't wait to come back later and read all the idiot posts about how we overpaid, the guys stats suck (oh they already started). Go out and read what some of the people who watched him play last in Golden State and they realize the Magic got a bargain! He's a defensive player who can shoot the three, plus he's 6'6". That's good size for a SG. The guy even played some PF last year for Don Nelson.
I hope JJ gets traded so he can play and we get a point guard in return. Unfortunately he's probably not going to crack the rotation again. The guy deserves a chance on the right team! I was hoping we could re-sign Keyon though. He will be missed! Especially some of his killer dunks! |

22m, 25m, whatever. As your mayor, I'm in agreement with the prvious poster. This guy is nowhere near that kinda cash. How do I know, you ask? I'm your mayor, dummy! I know all about not being worth the money you're paid! |

I am personally thrilled to see MP coming to Orlando, he has the ability to be a top flight SG in the East and with him and CL in the fold the back court looks better. I know Jameer is not everybodies favorite but he is now surrounded by talent. DH12, Turk, Rashard, MP. The Magic have not done things the splashy way, but they have done things the right way. Battie is back, Cook will improve (The man can shoot!) and Gortat (The Polish Pounder) will suprise you. I know we need a point guard, and likely we will land Jason Williams as a stop gap. And while he is not Keyon I believe he will be effective as a back up. I think the Magic will win 55 games with this roster and make the eastern conference finals.

Your post has a typo. It should read - "I'm your dummy mayor". |

ok....can somebody tell me WHY WE WANNA BRING BACK FOYLE!!!!......gimme a break
and why do we need a "veteran" PG backup.....can't it be Kevin Kruger or Travis Diener for that matter!!.....i am sure both of them will be cheap. In the past we have gone for "veteran" PG...and the decision came back and haunted us for the entire season!.........Vaughan, Lue,. and WE DONT NEED FOYLE!!......just stick with the crew we have.......cuz we understand we are outta money....otherwise i would have recommended some other big body out there!.....and yeah get rid of the plethora of SG's..........Boggans can stay.....Reddick can go....Lee can probably play backup to Jameer!......Turk can do 2 or 3 or 4 Nelson/Lee Pietrus/Lee/Boggans Rashard/Turk Battie/Rashard Howard/Gortat/Augustine thats 10 up there 2 more lets see (Kruger, maybe Cook) |

I agree with your post. We can probably get Williams for the vet minimum. There are other vet minimum players we can get that would do well to give depth to the bench. There is also still the ability to move Bogans and/or JJ to acquire another piece. I think we have very quietly improved as a team this summer. Our biggest need is back up point and that will be filled soon. |

You fools are unbelieveable. The Magic are a #5 team already for next year and working on being a #6.
Hey gang! We won 52 games! Now this year lets win 53 and the get beat in Round 1 by the Raptors. Yayyyyyyy! |

It was announced that Chris Duhon got the full midlevel exception from the Knicks, over $11 million for two years. We offered $10 million for three years. That makes the price of Pietrus seem much more reasonable by comparison. And forget about Pietrus's stats at Golden State. He didn't fit their system and was often played at the 4. He really could blossom in SVGs system and provide a much needed defensive mindset at the 2.
I'm still holding out hope that the Dooling talk is a negotiating ploy. Until he inks a contract elsewhere, the welcome mat will be out at the right price. If he can do better elsewhere, fine. |

You would hope that the Magic would look at Philly signing Brand for "only" 5yrs and 82.5M, and realize they are going to need to hit the luxury tax in order to compete.
SIGN DOOLING! |

Philly has more flexibility than the Magic, and can continue to add players. The Magic need to make a decision whether they are going to just be a playoff team, or really go for it.

Nothing you have ever said has proven relevant. Whether or not you are a "Dukie" which I seriously doubt, going to Duke doesn't necessarily mean you are intelligent. It might mean their is enough in breeding in your family that going their as the child of an alumni is the only way you could get into any college. You have proven through your posts that you are just a sad, angry person who has nothing better to do in life than post flaming comments on this board. Go away. Get a life. Buy a gun. Do what ever is necessary to end your suffering. |

I agree with all of that. As for Foyle, I would like to see him come back. He's better than any other big man we'd have the money to get, simply b/c we won't have anything left to offer after signing a PG. And we DO need another big man. Gortat isn't good enough to play all that time at center when Dwight's out, and Battie really needs to play PF. Plus, you all have to realize that we need at least a 14 man roster, in case of injuries, and right now I do believe we're only at 12. Augustine isn't good enough to be in the regular 12 yet, he will probably stay on the IR most of the time until he can prove he deserves playing time, and we won't be able to get anything other than a 2nd rounder for JJ, which leaves us with: PG: Jameer, free agent signing (whoever it ends up being) SG: Bogans, Lee, Pietrus SF: Hedo PF: Rashard, Battie, Cook C: Dwight, Gortat Cook isn't good enough to bang around down low against some of the more physical big men, and while Gortat looked good in the playoffs, he still needs more time to fully develop. That's why we need another big man, and Foyle seems like the best option to me. |
||||
|
The Magic must believe that C. Lee can defend bigger PGs, while Turk plays point forward. That's the only way they can possibly justify letting Dooling go.
Wish they would have traded for Chalmers ahead of Miami. |

Ha, ha, ha, ha!!! LMAO, do us all a favor and dial 411 for Dr. Kevorkian's #,... please.
|

MP is starting at the 2.
|

Brian, please, why do you always forget to mention the best point guard of this team, better than Jameer. His name is Carlos Arroyo.
|
||||
I know, I listed him at SG, which of course is the 2. |
