As an alumnus of the University of Colorado, I am
most disgusted to learn of Chauncey Billups's
self withdrawal from consideration in the 2008
Beijing Olympic Men Basketball Team.
It is very unfortunate that he got hurt by the
point guard J Nelson of Orlando Magic. Billups is already 31, and he will not get another chance at the Olympics. It is true that with 2 healthy younger, rising point guards in competition, and
with Billups injury, Coach K. has to leave out
Billups from the 3 point guards to be selected.
Billups is cocky to say that it is due to family
issues. In reality, most likely it is not. In the last two NBA seasons, his playing abilities and skills aresomewhat diminishing while D. Williams and C. Paulare rising. Billups is very uncareful in not protecting himself from playoffs injuries since coach K. was very high (on Billups) as of the comments made on April 15, 2008.He should have joined the USA Team in 2004 Olympics and in the 2006 World games in Japan.
Just too bad! Chauncey Billups could have been the first ever U. of Colorado Buffalo to be playing in men's Olympic Basketball games. Of course, there were (are) many successful Buffaloes in USA Skiing, Track & Field,Swimming, Hockey, Volleyball Teams in the past.
Good luck to you, Chauncey Billups!

How can you say that it is cocky for Chauncy say it is do to family issues? The basketball season is over and he has the right to choose what he does for the summer for whatever reason. He should spend the time he has with is family as well as let his body heal during the summer. He is a FAMILY man you know!

As much as i think something has to change concerning the Pistons rotation i doubt that Joe will make a significant trade.
I think the team will head into camp as is personnel wise but possibly with a different philosophy.
There just seems to be entirely way too much whining and complaining being done and IMO it's effecting the play on the court.

the piston coaches should play the younger guys that are just taking up space on the bench. they have the skills but the coaches don't have the confidence. amire johnson could become a star just like tayshun prince but not while sitting on the bench. get that 7 foot guy back from the d league and let him play. some of the older guys whine to much and don't try to play solid defense all the time. the pistons have a good team but they are playing the right guys trying to make some of the other players happy.

Alright Joe Dumars, lets face the facts. You manage the Detroit Pistons who are the New England Patriots of the NBA. Outside of the Midwest everyones hates them more then any other team in the NBA.
Do you really think any NBA team is going to consider trading with you, cause I sure as shit don't unless you are willing to trade Chuancie Billups and either Rip Hamilton or Tayshean Prince to the Pacers or some other NBA team for a group of guys like Shawnie Williams, Marquise Daniels and Jamaal Tinsley.
And you know what there all aside from maybe Sawnie Williams a bunch of has beens and never will be's just like Kwamie Brown. And I got news for you Joe, that's about all your team is going to get this off season as far as new faces go.

The pistons are definitely not the new england patriots, 1 championship versus 4 championships.
prediction: eastern conference finals

No for the STOLEN Detroit Pistons it's more like 3* championships vs. 4.
Prediction-Age finally starts to show with the Pistons just like it did with the Pats on D when they played Miami last Sunday and the Central division rankings are as follows:
1.Cleveland, Cavaliers (Lebron will light the east up and last season's big name FA's will gel the team together more as will Cleveland's #1 Pick)
2.Chicago, Bulls (Da Bulls will rebound from a bad year and D. Rose will be on fire, coming second to Greg Oden in Rookie of the year votes)
3.Indiana, Pacers (They will still be the Pacers, but this time they will own the Pistons due to age)
4.The Stolen Detroit, Pistons (Kwamie Brown and age will let the Pistons down)
5.Milwaukee, Bucks (Still in rebuilding, but they will be better with RJ and Joe Alexander)
This means Detroit will not make the playoffs.

Oh wait the Pistons must have won a championship when they were in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. So I guess for the STOLEN Detroit Pistons vs. the Pats it's more
Foxburro ASSaCHEATsettes, Pats 3*
Stolen Detriot, Pistons 3

The only good young guy the stolen Pistons have to play is Rodney Stuckey who got lit up against Boston in the Eastern Conference finals last season. Now lets look at the rest of the Detroit Shitston's young bench. Hhhmm lets see here, about all they have left aside from Tayshaun Prince is Kwamie "I suck and use drugs" Brown.
Man the Pistons bench must really suck if they gotta bring Kwame Brown into the picture.
