Riley angered by Heat's attitude, effort in rout

Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

The price of defeat? Heat coach Pat Riley appears ready to own up to the debt. After another lethargic effort by his lottery-bound team, this time a 108-83 home loss Wednesday to the Raptors, Riley said there ...

Pat Riley, you are the only coach in the nba that doesn't let it players play. You're the last of a dying breed of coaches, even Phil Jackson let's the players figure out how to play with each other. I use to think that PJackson didn't earn his paychecks because he didn't seen to be involved in the games. I have been to many heat games and it's sad that all you can here is Pat Riley yelling plays, sets, where to be, who to cover, etc.

He should just collect his HOF award and move back up to the front office, take his play book and let someone else with a new voice, and a new style come in and restore this team.

FA's don't want to play here, and the ones we get via trades can never learn this slow boring, 1/2 court, help defensive style.

The fact that DCook is still in Dleauge tells me that Riley destroys the confidence of young players. yes, he drafted DWade (not his 1st choice), but SVG gave him his exposure.

I blame the owner for tolerating this, Riley may be able to turn this around with his GM skills, but not with his coaching skills.

Riley should be ashamed. He rails against the players, but who picked this bunch of losers? He should stop blaming them and for once accept the blame and do the right thing. In any normal organization, the executive responsible for such a fiasco would be out on his ear. And so would the coach. If the man had any honor, he would fall on his sword (not literally, of course).

These guys have to do a better job of being bad! Wade missing a dunk! Marion airball and dribbling off his foot (WADES TRICK), and Banks will be sent to "D_LEAGUE" because he scored too many points! Come on guys, it was too obvious! Riley looked upset! Macadoo laughed!

I hope they clean house this summer. This past offseason was, well, terrible. But I wouldn't expect two in a row from Pat. The last time we had top 10 picks we got Caron Butler and then Dwyane Wade. Couple a high(maybe 1st) pick with a few solid free agents and we're back as a top 5 team in the East. Of the players on the current squad, I'd lose everyone but Wade, Marion, Haslem, Wright, and Cook. They need to draft either that Beasly kid or a center with the pick, and address the center spot and point guard in free agency. If we improve enough I think 'Zo may come back as well. With the core of Wade/Marion/Haslem I think one decent center and a few good role players can get us back to the top. However Pat has got to abandon his big man first mentality. With Wade and Marion, we've got to become a run-and-gun team like Phoenix was pre-Shaq and like the Heat were under Stan Van Gundy, pre-Shaq. I'd really like to see Riles head back up to the front office full time and give Erik Spoelstra the reins, only this time not take over when the next Shaq comes to town.

RILEY IS CORRECT !!!...

If you and me don't perform at work, we all get fired - and correctly so ... if the so-called professional hoop players who collect big time for every game played don't perform, nothing much will happen to them because of contractual and player labour rules - THIS IS WRONG !!!...

If you only want to collect $$$$ and do not like to perform while on the HEAT Roster, you do not belong on this team and should leave !!!...

RILEY WILL CLEAN UP THIS ROSTER, and THE HEAT WILL BECOME COMPETITIVE AGAIN VERY SOON !!!

JUST DO IT PAT, AND CLEAN UP !!!... GO HEAT !!!

I don't know what's more disgusting to watch anymore. Is
it the Heat's lack of effort - or watching Udonis Haslem chewing on or spitting out that mouthpiece of his like a baby with a pacifier?

Why should we keep changing players, so what he's mad. That's a deflecting of blame, only one head should roll. The players today just do not respond to his style anymore.

Jerry sloan, Phil Jackson and other old time coaches are not as stubborn. Just tell me why does he still call every offensive and defensive play.

These players are confused as to where to be, who to pick up , etc. That's not the players, that's the system. Remember Mashburn was suppose to be a bust here and kicked our butt when he left.

Riley use to energize old vets, but he does NOTHING for young players. Are we really desperate for getting back to the finals with these quick fixes, can't we develop our rooster and make a run in 2 years?

Tell me one free agent that wants to play here.

Alright, so we lost a game. Our guys (Heat players) are just tired. It should be expected to let a game or two slide. Wow, I thought Alexander Johnson was amazing!!!! Why in the world was he not in the All Stars. Riley you struck gold again!!!! Pat Riley, get the troops a little more motivated and we will certainly be the sleeper in the playoffs this year, Celtics you have no idea how good we are, just saving it for playoff time!!! Finally, Riley your awesome!!!!! We are so lucky to have you as a coach!!!

Wade is more of a ballhog than a leader. When is this guy ever going to play any defense? I thought Riley was going to set up Marion with some plays? Nobody ever sets him up. He probably wants out of here by now. Bench the loafers - Wade included - and play the 2nd string.

If he ferrets out the guys who don't care, who will be left? More importantly, who are those poor souls who have nothing else to do but go there and sit around. Do you see those fast bimbos sitting courtside with their 3xxxl sexy outfits and "get-a-man" pearls? It would be great if everyone would get up a leave in unison.

You have noone but yourself to thank, Riles.....you stiff. Where's Van Gundy when you need him, jerkie.

With Riley on board they won't even win the Lottery. They'll never get the 1st pick.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Libra

Don't put yourself through anything that isn't absolutely necessary, Libra. After all, why cook when others will gladly serve you at their house, or treat you to a wonderful meal at your favourite restaurant? Even when you assert yourself, there seems to be a wonderfully passive quality to your manner. Now that the universe has finally decided to give you some of what you want, make sure your wish list is short and don't be greedy.
