I feel that he can come in and make significant contributions right away. People fail to speak on his second best attribute and that is his passing abilities. His court awareness is uncanny. He seems to know where everyone is on the court. Yes, he can shoot and rebound especially well for a two guard, but the fact that he will be able to set up his teamates as well.

Riley needs a center and some 3 pt veterans in trades.
He is now about 5 years away from the NBA finals.

Pat doesn't need a center. Shaq and Zo are the best center tandem in the NBA by far. Pat needs to trade for a new PG like a Andre Miller in the worst way cause if that position isn't upgraded then they won't return to the Finals. The problem with the Heat is the PG spot on both ends of the court....which Andre Miller would solve. The lack of speed/defense at SF is the other problem which can be solved with Wright moving into the rotation and playing 25-30 minutes a night. Wright would tame guys like Deng that Walker, Posey, and Jones simply couldn't. Wright has the height, length, and speed to shut keep him in check. The Heat are one solid PG away from being back in the NBA Finals.

why Cook was not picked at 20th pick if he is ready for NBA? Why Riley did the trade later? Because of 2 round pick & some dollars?......

ALEX- WOULD YOU RATHER GET SOMEONE PLUS BONUSES OR JUST THE ONE THING? RILEY WAS SMART HE KNEW PHILLY WANTED SMITH SO THE HEAT TOOK HIM DECIDED TO GET SOMETHING OUT OF IT BY GETTING THE 09 PICK AND CASH.

Cracy Cook can really shoot,in Orlando he puts in 9 of 9, with 22 points.
The problem with Dorell-Wrong is his erractic shooting.
What about PG Zabian Dowdell? He wasn't drafted. The heat may invite him to summer camp, he looks better and faster than Quin, and who's konws?
Besides, is Pat Riley broke? My God he sold everything! He even puts Pfund in the market, but no body want him!

The Heat should trade its new 2nd round picks in 2009 to the Blazers for Taurean Green. All he's done is win the Florida high school championship and 2 NCAA titles. He's a winner with a winner's mentality---something the Heat needs bad.

IF J-Wil is healthy, he's the best option out there. Everything but Billups is a downgrade - so let's talk sense.
The Heat needs a quality back-up. Earl Boykins was just released by the Bobcats and he'd be a great vet to have off the bench.
Maybe the Heat can send Walker to the Cav's for Hughs (who the Cavs want to trade). It would be an under-achiever switch, but could benefit both teams.
The only way the team loses J-Wil is to get a star like Lewis. Even then, I'm not sure that makes it a good trade as Wade is too good to be left to constantly bring the ball up court.

Dorell sucks.. trade him + walker or Jwill for Rashard Lewis or artest. Simien will have his playing time this year. he's a far better player than dorell. or trade dorell to china for one of their best 3-point shooting guards.

Riley has never trusted rookies his hole career. I don't expect him to change now. They would certianly have to be a fenom for that to happen and I don't see any fenoms!
