The reality is the Heat need to win now. Who knows? They might land a rookie that will contribute and be a decent player but they will be lucky if they do at the 20th pick. Just like Dorrel Wright, the probability is that these players best years will probably be with another team. The team is built around Shaq and Wade everyone else is just a piece to the puzzle. If Shaq has some gas in his tank then we can make some noise. If not, then we can look forward to dumping Walker and J. Williams and try to land another star to play alongside Wade. If Pat Riley is able to acquire R. Lewis he's the man.

Mr Hyde you seem to have penned an article that is critical of Heat fans for wanting to get younger and more athletic.

A lot of us are thinking Shaq is through. He is often, if not always, a liability at the end of games even before old age caught up with him(or should I say old age coupled with his own lack of motivation to stay in top shape).

The simple fact is: Talented teams that are young and athletic have given the Heat FITS! If we keep getting creamed by those types of teams we will need A LOT OF LUCK to duplicate the champion season we had year b4 last. Especially because more and more teams are being set up that way since there are very few dominating post players to go around.

But Riley will do things his way. I love the Heat, I just do not have confidence in Riley the GM and I DO think we happened to have luck on our side th year b4 last when we won it all. Plus the fact that God is a Heat fan.

Now last season Shaq took the whole regular season to mend and do surgeries and so on and during the offseason he was playing cops & robbers. This year he is off to work on a diet for kids gig. If he has anything that needs fixing (likes his free throws ...ha ha ha!) he should do it during the offseason instead of working on television and cops & robbers gigs.
I don't agree with much of anything else you said, but I do agree on this....Shaq should be working on those freethrows. He's pathetic. Old "I make em when we need em" haha..what a joke!

Yeah! Let any of us take that attitude about anything at work and say ... don't worry, I'll do it when it is really necessary, when it counts. We would be fired or squashed. What a fraud, particularly for season ticket holder or others that buy a product in exchange for something. Now, if it was true, then some of us might be taken into the idea. BUT IT IS NO TRUE. HE DOES NOT MAKE THE FREE THROWS AND THEY LOSE GAMES, BIG GAMES BECAUSE OF IT. Well, you know the coach is taking the same road, I might be part of the team or maybe not. So, Shaq gets away with murder. So that is why I am so skeptical about all these extra-curricular things and no improvement in the free throws.

WHERE IS THE PROFESSIONAL PRIDE IN BASKETBALL IN THIS MAN THAT HE REFUSES TO IMPROVE HIS FREE THROWS. WHATEVER IT TAKES... underhanded, sideways, standing on his head.

How about this Scrambled Eggs Quarterback the Dolphins have, what if he decides to say, don't worry, I will complete passes when they count in the 4th quarter or something along those lines.????

Payton is one of the best point guard to ever play! Just putting it out there.
