Don't matter none who they be drafting 'cause Riley never has developed any young player unless they are supermen type of guys like Magic and Wade. His team is a collection of beat up old guys and there is never any room for a young prospect to make the same mistakes that guys like Antoine, Jason, Eddie Jones and others make by the dozen every game. Riley is pretty much like old KCJones coach of the Celtics who played 7 veterans until they dropped. You see other teams coming out with young players like Chicago and then they play them in the playoffs but Riley just sticks to bringing them old dudes.... so why bother drafting anyone.????

Hyde, I didn't even read this article. After your poor attempt to mock Shaq, I am no longer reading any of your crap.

Cook is a wonderful asset to the Miami Heat. If he grasp the NBA style and is welcomed by his team, this young man will become a perrenial shooter in the NBA!

You're right, the draft isn't the answer, at least this year's draft.
The answer is a complete front office overhaul.

since they needed a point guard. They could've picked the gator green at 39. Trades and free agency is the answer for miami.Artest lewis and any inexpensive free agent point guard like blake, Dwade will handle the point.
note Shaq might be aging 35, but he is still the diesel and nobody play s him one on one.remember we had a parade on biscaine blvd because of him, dwade could not have done it all by himself.

Hyde...get your facts straight Shaq will be 36(not 37)in the spring of 08. Hyde...did you see the 95 posts ripping you for your absurd hate filled article on Shaq last Tuesday?

Pat can solve the youth/athletic problem with fair ease. Payton and EJ walk. Wright should be the starting SF and split time with a resigned Posey. Wright is ready for a 20-25 minutes a night and he is exactly what the Heat needs in terms of youth, speed, and length on the wing. Wade being healthy something he wasn't last season helps a lot. Jason Williams should be traded for Andre Miller.

This team is set to return to the Finals if all the above happens it gives them a good mix of veteran/youth. Shaq and Zo are the only old guys but they are by far the best center combo in the NBA even still in their mid to late 30's.

Shaq, Haslem, Wright, Wade, Miller.

Zo, Walker, Posey, Cook, Atkins?

I bet 100 that Washington or Orlando will win the division.
Waht about D-Wade. Will he be the same FLASH?

I think they should package cook with Wright +(Walker or Jwill) for Lewis or artest. There are too many free agent PG this year to look at it as a problem. Resign Posey.

FA/Quinn (Jwill)
Wade/FA
Lewis/Posey
Haslem/Simien (Walker)
Shaq/Zo/Doleac

Spare parts..

This doesnt surprise me more stupid remarks come out of cubans everyday.. dont even bring that sh*t up dont forget that is the same team that won in 2006. Yes I do think Riley needs to change the team around a bit get some younger players that can standy by the almighty Wade and Shaq. Now go cheer on and watch your Marlins suck as usual you dont belong.

HEY, HEY, HEY... let's not racially incongruent now or we might have to send the Dubya Bush Patriot police to your house to check your papers and we might find that you yourself come from some other place and we might have to send you back there. Unless you are a Seminole, a Sioux, a Lakota, Shoshone or similar you are not entitled to tell anyone much about their nationality or race. Or we might have to star sending all Jews back to North and Central Europe, blacks back to the West Africa, Italians back to Sicily and Napoli, and so on.... oh, and Haitians back to Haiti and it goes on and on and on....

Obviously if you shell out some major $$$$ dollars for season tickets to go watch a championship team and only see a bunch of old guys bouncing the balls off their legs and head and the mega star of the team recuperating from some injuriy, well, well, well. Then maybe you might complain about what is going on with that franchise during the regular season. Where is the entertainment promised when seasons tickets are sold under those pretenses??? You think Antoine Walker is entertaining anymore?

Now last season Shaq took the whole regular season to mend and do surgeries and so on and during the offseason he was playing cops & robbers. This year he is off to work on a diet for kids gig. If he has anything that needs fixing (likes his free throws ...ha ha ha!) he should do it during the offseason instead of working on television and cops & robbers gigs.

THAT IS JUST OUT OF DECENCY TO THE PEOPLE THAT PAY MEGABUCKS FOR SEASON TICKETS AND THAT ARE SOLD A BAG OF GOODS THAT JUST ISN'T THERE!!!!

Yea or we could send all the white people back to Europe? And yes I happen to be a Seminole and proud of it and my people. You didnt have to go that far with that post.

Should of taken Taurean Green rather than loading up on 2009 second round picks. Really stupid!

Cook? That's the solution? A three-point specialist who can't do anything else yet at No. 20? Seems like a need pick that won't really help. We should have 1) traded the pick for a veteran Riles might actually play, 2) traded out of the round, acquired a first for next year and selected Fazekas, since we were going for a guy who could shoot the long ball, or 3) been smart and built for the future by selecting the best guard prospect still available in Rudy Fernandez. I mean, there isn't a more Miami-friendly player than that! He's young, athletic, shoots well and speaks Spanish fluently!... We seriously have idiots running our draft department. Good thing someone managed to talk Riles down from picking Kaman over D-wade, or else we'd really be in trouble.
