Kapono to leave Heat for Raptors

It didn't take long for the Heat to suffer its first free-agent defection. Forward Jason Kapono agreed in principle to a four-year contract with the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, the first day teams can negotiate ... Full Story

Think D Jones---Kapono's loss does not hurt at all-shaq and wade made him. There was a reason he didnt play in cleveland and he did not have competition there or at charlotte. I say we get Steve Francis when the buyout goes thru and would be great coming off the bench like stack in dallas

Oh my God. No. That can not be!!!!!
There goes our chance for a championship.
Did you not see how Kapono was so effective against Chicago in the playoffs. He was such a key (NOT!!!!!!)

It does not matter with this team because Shaq will make the free throws when they count!(NOT)

And Reilly will be the coach when the teams plays well but not if they play horrible. And Reilly will go down to the NBA flea market and get a couple of old dogs, never a young player of course, and then they will make the playoffs and find that again here are all these teams with 8 or 9 players, many young energetic, and the Heat has Wade and Shaq who is just coming off his undercover cop detail ... or is it his overweight kids tv gig. But don't forget the Heat also has grandaddy Antoine Walker who drools and dribbles balls off his head and feet and out of bounds.

ANYBODY WANTS TO BUY SEASON TICKETS THAT COST MORE THAN DIAMONDS TO WATCH THIS CIRCUS.

To win in the NBA you have to have 3 point shooters. The heat just one of the best. This is a step back for them unless they bring in more sharp shooters.

Somebody asked Walker: Why do you shoot so many three?

Walker answered: Because there is no four.

We don't need no honkies on this team. Saltines crack under pressure. Anyone else notice Shaq looks just like Chewbacca from Star Wars if you gave him a full body shave? If we need shooters trade for that dude in Indiana that shot up the strip club. Holla!

Ohhhhh! Andy D.,
How sharper than a serpent's tooth is to have a thankless child like you!
A Knicks fan, the lowest common denominator, after a JETS fan, how can you hurt me this way. What have I done to deserve this. Imagine me a fan of Isiah and his team. The single crippiest NBA person that ever was, Seņor Isiah and then his Knicks with pedophile Woodie Allen and Spike "Al Sharpton Jr" Lee as fans.

I feel this hurt that is permanent. I retire from sports effective immediately as my heart can not endure...

Adios, Andy D., you Maricon you. I think I saw you giving Reilly a Rusty Trombone!

Let's consider the relevant issues, two known and two unknown. First, we know Kapono is not Damon Jones; he's way bigger, younger, still has upside that will be reached with increased playing time, and will play a much bigger role with Toronto than Jones is playing with Cleveland. Second, we know Kapono is and will always be limited. We don't know how much money he settled for with Toronto, and we don't know who the Heat will replace him with. The Heat were unwilling to pay Bruce Bowen, and history shows that was a mistake, whereas letting Damon Jones go was correct. What's the criteria, the plan informing the decision-making this time around? We'll know soon enough, because the free-agency timetable has accelerated. If Riley's looking for significant upgrade, waiting for market leftovers won't get it done. He'll have to move quickly, like he did with the Lamar Odom offer. He'll make his moves next week, and if he can't pull off the big upgrades, then he'll wait out the market for second tier/lower priced players.

I believe that about Walker for sure but he will shoot the 3's only after he is drooled and dribbled a couple of balls off his legs into the second row. Comical. Is part of the entertainment and definitely not worth taking him out to develop some younger player. New team name for 2007-08 might be the Miami Hospice.
