Mayo is clearly the better player right now. Anything can happen in the future but the Wolves season is clearly over already. This team will not make the playoffs.

Comparing Mayo to Love isn't relevant since they play different positions.

After McHale got together with his former Celtic teammate Danny Ainge to return the "dynasty" back to Boston, it really didn't matter who came to this purgatory called the Timberwolves, the win/lose record would still be the same. The only difference would be that Mayo would be suffering on this team instead of Love.

You have to compare the two because Mayo is the star-in-the-making the Wolves foolishly gave up for a bunch of stiffs. It was easily the worst trade this franchise has made. I'm going to the game tonight and the only reason I'm going is so I can cheer on the 2008-09 NBA Rookie of the Year, O.J. Mayo. I was a Wolves fan my whole life, but this trade sent me over the edge. Good riddance to the T-Wolves. GO GRIZZLIES!!!!

Hands down, the Grizzlies got the best of this trade. Every trade Kevin M has made has gone better for the other team. Dump Kevin, and Glen too. Both are pathetic!

This was not the worst trade this team ever made,
they've made several worse- Tyrone Corbin for Mike
Brown- Luc Longley for Stacy King come to mind
immediately. The stiffs that McHale had previously
acquired- Marko Jaric and Antoine Walker- that they
were able to get rid of was worth losing Mayo alone
and they got a good player in Miller, unless he keeps getting hurt. Love will be solid for years
to come. This season is over but will get better.

Every trade and every basketball decision this supposedly intelligent organization has made has taken this team another step down the road to being the worst franchise in the NBA. Taylor talks the talk, but he sure doesn't walk the walk. And until proven otherwise I am convinced he is intentionally running this operation as a money losing business to lessen the tax implications on his other very profitable businesses. Everyone dumps on McFail and rightly so, but all the pent up frustration of the fans should be pointed at and laid at the feet of the owner of this team. In the end he is the one who makes the final decisions regarding the Wolves.

The Wolves may not have gotten the best of this trade, but there's no denying that they got the best of the Heat in the Mario Chalmers for a conditional second round pick and some cash, right? Wait, nevermind...

All the trades we have done in the past helps the other team more. It will continue until we get some one in the GM position who knows talent and salary cap issues. It would be nice if Taylor would hire someone who is a proven winner in building teams. On the other side of the coin we need a good coach to teach and motivate our young talent. We have not had a good coach since management fired Flip Saunders! And he is available along with Sam Mitchell!

You are kidding, right? How can you compare losing a quick, potentially high scoring offensive machine for the second coming of Mark Madsen???
No contest here, another major McFail screw up!

if taylor wanted to win, he would have bought out the contracts of jaric and antoine walker over a year ago - and then went ahead and drafted the best, nba-ready player available (mayo) and kept him. he also wouldn't have traded former rookie of the year roy for randy foye and cash in previous draft.

oh, and he would have cleaned house management-wise (especially the guy who created the bad contracts) and paid the money it takes to bring in a good, experienced gm and coach.

ray allen, brandon roy, o.j mayo, chalmers...... trading k.g for scrap and a one-dimensional forward.... letting chauncey billups walk for nothing....... on and on and on.....

malachy said it well in that last paragraph. don't forget trading cassell and a first round pick for jaric, then giving him like 50 million. only getting terrell brandon and his terrible knees for what was a good marbury at the time. It goes on and on, the fact this management is still in place speaks volumes to how much Taylor wants to win.

Terrible trade period. Mayo will star foe the next 12 years while Love will be a role player at best. Miller is a huge disapointment as well. He can't create his own shot and his defense is atrocious.

I was wondering why McHale would trade for a power forward, when the one spot we knew we had covered was power forward. I heard that McHale said that he wanted to run a smaller team on the court. Am I the only one that sees a major flaw in his initial thinking? Dwight Howard, Greg Oden etc. will destroy Big Al as a center. That is unfair to Al who is one of the better power forwards in the league and to Kevin Love who will eventually have to be traded or playing behind Al when they figure playing smaller lineups doesn't work.

Do you suppose KEVIN made the trade for Kevin because he liked the name? It makes about as much sense as any of the other numerous bonehead moves he has made. When will this nightmare ever end? My girls 5th grade team has more continuity than the T-Wolves has!

Who cares about who got the better deal? OJ Mayo DID NOT want to come to Minnesota. He didn't want to play for the Timberwolves. Why can't people see this?

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Aquarius

Unfortunately it won't take much to get your wires crossed, especially if you're trying to keep track of your Christmas preparations. It's hard to work out what still needs to be done. A member of the family is away with the fairies or is being completely fanciful. It's a pest because that sort of behavior can make you feel anxious and harassed.
