That's the problem with the live-or-die-by-the-three mentality. If they aren't falling, you're screwed. Course Dwight didn't have a post game tonight. Magic defense sucked.

They'll make it past the first round, but after that, who knows?

Say goodbye to the second seed. I didn't know the Magic were so content with having the 3rd seed heading into the playoffs. And for that fact say good bye to 60 wins too. I can see SVG playing the bench in these last 3 games. Looks like another 4-1 exit in the second round this year. Is it any wonder people keep doubting the Magic?

ha ha ha..what a joke.. you lose to the Raptors and the Knicks two lottery bound teams when you needed both games to be in the hunt for home court..

lol terrible..on national TV too..to the Knicks?? The Knicks?? At home?? the Knicks are 2-12 in their last 14 oh wait..3-11 in their last 14..ha ha..

The Magic cry about no respect from the league and fans.. ha ha.. then you lose to the Knicks and Raptors at home while the Magic are still in the middle of a major battle for the 2nd seed ...

Oh wait.. WERE in a battle.. Magic can say bye bye to Boston and soon there will be a bye bye for the Magic in the first round..losers..

It's like I have said all along folks. The Magic are destined to play the Detroit Pistons in the first round of the playoffs. Ultimately it will result in a first round loss.
No effort or any intensity to speak of. Dwight Howard looks totally disinterested out there. Rashard is laughing and joking around with the opponents. None of this is gonna get it done.
I predicted Detroit would take a vacation and then turn it on near the end of the season so as to position themselves to be able to face the Magic in the first round. Sure enough they have won 3 straight..which will be 6 straight after they win their last 3 of the season.
In conclusion it will either be DETROIT or BOSTON who will knock the Magic out of the playoffs this season.

The Magic were content with the 3 spot because they thought DETROIT had no shot at number 6..they thought they were safe. Now DETROIT is hot while Philly is choking. DETROIT WILL get to number 6..which will result in a first round playoff loss folks. You heard it here first. Or they WILL lose to Boston in the second round...only IF they play anyone else but DETROIT in round 1.

I was just looking at the schedules of the bottom 3 seeds in the eastern conference. Looks like we will be playing detroit in the first round. Detroit has the easiest schedule, they play chicago at home so they can go ahead of them and Philly has cleveland and boston in the last 2 games, sure losses unless the other team throws in the towel.

As much as I am worried about the post season I am almost as optimistic. The only game Orlando showed up for in the last 5 or 6 games was the cleveland game and they totally walloped them. Hopefully when the playoffs start next week we go into the games with that amount of focus and determination.

The problem with this team is so obvious.

Posted April 10, 2009 11:11 PM
They just don't care. They really, truly don't.
You can see it on their faces, you can see it in the way they run down the court, and you can see it in how they play defense.

Now, I'm not freaking out and saying they're terrible. Orlando is a REALLY good team, and I have a high amount of confidence that they will play true Magic basketball in the playoffs, but lets be real. Our last 10 games have been so lackluster, its scary.

I know we've won 16 of 21, and that it seems redundant to complain, but these guys need to get their heads in the game.

Rashard has been generally flat. Redick can't make a shot. Turk is inconsistent from anything past 5 feet, and Dwight, god bless him, backs people in and holds the ball out like a waitress carrying a tray as he turns. How many steals did Dwight give up tonight?

Bench play is inconsistent AT BEST.(Uhh.. Pietrus anyone? Battie? Redick??)

I know I'm ranting, and I'm sure I'll get flamed for bashing the team after a bad loss, but I just felt the need to say all this... and since none of my buddies really watch Magic basketball, I felt I needed to turn here.. lol.

As I said, I KNOW we will come out in the playoffs with intensity. I have every bit of confidence in the world in that... so here's hoping that we can get this turned around. I really wanted to break the franchise record for wins this year, and if we win out, we can still accomplish that.

Hopefully we can all agree that the problem with this team is just its lack of intensity and "drive" to win.

We'll get it back.=)

GO MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!

Jeff, we will absolutely not be playing Detroit.
We're the #3 seed, Detroit will either be the #7 or #8.

There is basically a mathematical impossibility that we will face Detroit in the first round.

One interesting point from the article:

"The lottery-bound Knicks (31-49), who had lost 12 of their past 14 games, out-hustled the Magic most of the night and blunted a familiar Orlando fourth-quarter rally. It was the Magic's third loss in their last six games, hardly a way to build playoff momentum."

We really do seem to be dragging into the playoffs.

Oh my gosh,

You guys are a riot. There was just a study that Orlando was like the #2 most negative city in America. The sky is falling....the sky is falling!

This team is bored and tired. This is the only game this year I am not upset about them losing. Now we can rest some guys. I'd rather have a fresh #3 seed then a tired #2 seed.

I take you now to the 2005-2006 season. Miami, the eventual Champions, ended their season with 3 straight losses after going 4-7 in April.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3708/game...

Coincidence you say. Let's look at the 2006-2007 season. The eventual NBA Champion SA Spurs ended the regular season as the #3 seed also losing their last 3 games.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3173/game...

2004-2005 Champion Spurs lost 3 of their last 4 regular season games.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3708/game...

So, please, just stop it. Honestly, I don't know how some of you all live like that.

My hope now is that this team does not surpass the previous record because this team is not worthy.

The team that has the record went to the NBA Final and this team will not even get a glimpse of such an opportunity.
