this says that Riley the coach is a heck of a lot better than Riley the GM...gets paid a lot of money to anticipate things like this and his free agent signings are Smush and Hardaway. I think its time for a REAL GM..........

YES, i know we won a championship, but keep holing onto fat shaq and the concept of not quickly rebuilding around superstar wade and wade will soon be our basketball marino during the next 8 - 10 years.

the Heat is thin at small forward with Posey. Let him go.

Preening Pat "Mr. Oh, So Cool" Riley loses another quality player due to his mismanagement of the salary cap. If I were Posey and I was aware of the $$$$ being paid to the likes of Antoine Walker, then I, too, would say screw you Mr. Greasehead. Who needs you? Mr. Armani is ruining this franchise and the sooner ownership wakes up and jettisons this fraud the better. For those of us who have endured the long slow rebuilding of our Dolphins due to mismanagement, we are about to go through something worse with the Heat.

Have we forgotten who hit the winning basket in the heat championship win against Dallas. IT WAS POSEY. o ye my ungrateful heat fans who see not the efforts of succes that Posey brought forth to the heat. Start being real fans for a change!

Simply a negotiation ploy by his Agent. All playoff teams are in the same boat as the Heat (cap-wise). Only lower tier teams can afford to pay Posey more than the Heat. If he bolts for a few more dollars guaranteed he'll never make playoff money (Unless he thinks the Heat won't make it there?)

Arrgghh...Riley should have retired after the title. this team may not be good again for a while due to his lack of long-term vision.

We need to keep Posey. He is a key defensive player especially in the 4th quarter.

Riley needs to grow a pair and bench tippy and give DW1 more playing time.

I am very very disappointed that Riles is not keeping him. He was our best bench player, along with Zo our best defender. He was as good if not better than Wade with the game on the line, he is also a fine gentleman. Hope he goes to a winning team he deserves it.
The continued use of the word"loss" as it relates to Kapono is unfortunate, it is a relief, he is a regular season sharpshooter, one of the many that disappear in the playoffs.

Why all this love for Posey? C'mon, the guy was lousy in last season's playoffs (some defender - between him and EJ 'defending' Deng looked like the next D-Wade!).
He'd hit the occasional timely shot, but he was more of a bench/role player than starter.
Personally, I like to see less traffic out there for the SF spot - it'll give DWright & Walker a shot to earn the starters role. If Posey resigned, Wright is reduced to a mop-up player.
The team lives and dies on Wade, make no mistake about it. With a healthy Wade guys like Alston & Kapono look like players on the make. He's the catalyst. Posey is small potatoes.

Posey, Jones and Kapono are not top tier players. If a team is counting on them for major contributions, then that team is in BIG TROUBLE!!!!

Wright deserves a chance to play major minutes. He is young & athletic and has good size.

Here is a suggestion: the Knicks are over-stocked with players. Offer them a 2nd rounder or two 2nd rounders for Demetris Nichols. He is young, athletic, and an excellent outside shooter. This guy is a KEEPER, but the Knicks have too many players and might give him up for a 2nd round pick or two!!

C- Shaq/Zo/Doleac
PF-Haslem/Walker/Johnson
SF-Walker/Wright/Hardaway
SG-Wade/Hardaway/Cook
PG-Williams/Parker

stil a decent team bt shag is gettin old =( i hope he stays on shape nd healthy for team to contend if evrythin fails miami jst hav to wait for shaq contract to expire =)) wade wil be 28 by that time nd hes prime
