NICE!!!!! Now if only ESPN China could show something more that Red Sox / Yankees. How many phuckyn times can one sit throught that series. And did the they play 15 games already. It's like pre-season in baseball, the only game I saw was Houston since there was a Yao Ming in it. play by play.."yao Ming makes a shot" "Yao mings teamate makes a shot""Yao Mings watches as team plays""yao mings team makes arebound""Yao ming takes a seat""Yaos team scores" There things othere that yankees and Yao, but you wouldn't know some of the best players in the world of basketball, a sport China pretends to watch, were actually playing. I was here for the entire Olympics, I did not see the USA team ONCE until the final gold metal game....What a croc. But I am learning more about snooker.

Good win.

That said, one thing that sticks in my craw is the fact that Wade was not even in the top 3 considered for defensive player of the year.

The media (including Ira - specially Ira) continued to fawn and slobber all over Dwight Howard and his stats. Let's look at them closely.

Ira went orgasmic while waxing eloquent about how "Howard had 15 games of more than 5 blocks..." Well, all that does is inflate statistics without showing consistency. Wade never posted such numbers (I think the maximum BPG he had was 4 and it was at most a couple of games,) yet he was in the top 20 in blocked shots.

Howard's ABPG was in the 2.9 range, while Wade's was 1.4. Now, one has to remember that a center's main contribution to the team is rebounding (not a defensive statistic,) scoring in the paint(again, not in the category) and protecting the rim. Those 15 games of 5+ BPG just padded his statistics to look more impressive, not more relevant. Take away those inflated numbers and the numbers would be more of a 2.5 ABPG.

So, in essence, Howard got his DPY award for blocking approximately ONE more shot per game than Wade. All this was accomplished by Wade while leading the league in scoring AND being top 10 in steals (another defensive statistic that Howard doesn't come near.)

Hell, even Lebron James got more votes for DPY than Wade! How does such a travesty can be perpetrated without ANY of our local sports "writers" - and I use the word euphemistically - not even raising an eyebrow?

What Wade accomplished this year was a first in the NBA, yet he is not even runner-up in the "voting."

Gotta admit, Lebron's commercials are funny, so I guess that counts in the voting.

Wade is the best player in the NBA in so many ways. If I were to build a team, I would start with that guy, nooo doubt. I would like to have Howard at center, but no wade? no way!

And they hint at it by talking a Wade vs LeBron series. I mean come on stop giving the other team bulletin material. I know we have D-Wade but even he doesn't have a big mouth and knows better

Damn, Beasley sucked last night...hopefully he gets his shot back on Monday, we need him...Haslem and J.O. played like poised veterans...If J.O. plays like that, Haslem is the perfect compliment to his game. It looks like they are finally gelling (better late than never)...Dwade is the best basketball player in the world.
PS...don't be scared Kenny the Cavs fan!!

Beasley has a bad game and you say only if he can be consistent. Haslem played great the last 2 games, but he has been inconsistent the whole year. Don't forget when he came in for the 2nd game, beasley was hot, but the coach brought haslem in when there was a 14 pt lead with about 5 minutes left. There was no pressure on him to hit 2 wide open shots. This game, beasley shots was off just like wade shots was off the 1st game. Kobe shot was really off the 3rd game. In the middle of the 3rd qtr., beasley total minutes for the game was 8 minutes so the coach did the right thing by keeping haslem in because he was hot and benefiting off of JO's post play which opened it open for him. Don't believe that Pat have not help the coach Spo out after the 1st game. Instead of Pat taking over like he did with Van Gundy, he's decided to help out who he picked. Even Spo stated last week that he talks to Riley, read the blogs, etc. It shows that he has no pride and is willing to listen and learn.
Good day.

Beasley will obviously be a great power forward some day..but right now haslem is the power forward this team needs. He and Wade sets the tone witht he championship mentality because they have done it before and know what it takes. And Haslem is at his best when there is a big and effective center. Then, haslem can do all the dirty work instead of being looked upon as the baddest guy in the paint. And he has the better-than-50%-jump shot that consistentluy gets him better than 10 points without taking a lot of shots away from wade or other shooters..and he doesn't cry about it. Spo has done a great job of getting across the point----that he values certain intangibles as playing hard and stuff....that is invaluable and those are the things that make a difference between winning teams and losing teams. And that is why Wade is completely on board with Spo..because that is what he knows and believes also. Spo, Wade, Haslem...these guys have been there and they know all that smiling and chatting and fooling around doesn't cut it. if you wanna have fun and get run out of playoffs or never make it...then, you should play for Phenix, New York, Sacramento, or Golden State. Winning teams like San Antonio, Detroit, Bulls of Jordan, Lakers, Boston, they win when they emphasize defense. And that is what Spo is doing...and veterans appreciate that.

Good day.
I don't doubt Riley has a lot of advice for Spo . I think Spo is a good coach . It would appear Beasley still has a lot to learn . I think one of the recent things Spo talked about is "pace" .
I also realize that everyone has off days . Even Wade . Good day as well .
