On verge of NBA Finals, redemption at hand for Orlando Magic's ...

Did Otis Smith have his doubts? You bet. Doesn't everyone when it comes to Rafer Alston ? This was, after all, the exact type of player the Orlando Magic general manager did not want on his roster at the start of the season, a veteran who might prove threatening to emerging starting point guard Jameer Nelson . Wow! Let's celebrate the fact he's a millionaire thug who gets chance after chance! Granted I'm all for the Magic to reach the finals, but why make this the centerpiece of their run? Are there not any feel-good stories about this? He's been arrested more than Latrell Sprewell's been accused of being someone's baby's daddy!

That 03-04 roster was more exciting to watch and had more potential than the Buy It Now 2006 championship team, which we all know had a hefty price in 2007.

Cleveland and Orlando have well rounded experienced rosters, the Heat only have a superstar, rookies and too many sixth men.

If Rafer was that great we would have kept him. I seem to remember him not being a disciplined player. He'll hit 4 shots in a row and then start heaving it every-time he gets the ball.

Oh really... like we kept Lamar Odom, Eddie House and Caron Butler. WHat planet are you from. I bet you don't even watch basketball. If you remember SVG played Udonis Haslem and all those guys that Pat Riley would have kept on the bench in his Old Skool rotation had he been the coach not allowing their potential to be seen by sensible teams who believe in developing talent instead of investing heavily in yesterdays talent.
