No excuses, not a bad motto. After Monday's LA game, we should be a full game ahead of Cleveland, and after we thump Boston on Thursday... :-)

How about a retractable-roof stadium for the Magic to play their championship games in rather than an equivalently priced new Arena which matches our other 2 local arenas in capacity?

It's not about capacity.

Nice attempt at sarcasm, and perhaps I'm not as smart as you with regards to Orlando venues, but where is this 2nd arena (2 local arenas, I'm assuming Amway is one, which seats just over 17,000) that matches the new arena in capacity (nearly 20,000 seats for basketball)?

Ok everyone needs to calm down here. Talking about a retractable roof arena is not gonna get it done.

The main focus should be on this Orlando Magic basketball team and how they are performing.

Folks this team is for real. They are on their way to the NBA Championship. Everyone needs to get their tickets now and be a part of the excitement.

I knew this team would win anywhere between 60 and 65 games this year. In fact I called it way back in September.

Communities with retractable-roof stadiums are successfully luring March Madness NCAA tournaments as well as Superbowls and other major league teams.

If you don't build it, they won't come.

p.s. the cavs have one of, if not THE easiest schedule in the NBA thus far, 2nd half of the season, when all those back to back games start comin, and they finally play good teams on the road (like the teams we beat) lets see how much games they win lol who do they have other than Lebron? big Z? oh, nevermind, maybe mo? lol I doubt it, but damn Lebron is so good he can beat ANY team by himself.

read it. who has the easiest schedule? and its not about regular season success, look at the mavs, suns, pistons the last few years. it all comes down to the playoffs and experience which the cavs, celtics, pistons, and even the heat have more playoff experience than the magic. the celtics KG, Paul Pierce, Ray allen , sam cassell all played in a bunch of playoff games (even though cassell was the only 1 to get a title). lebron and the cavs have went deep in the playoffs the last 3 years and now they add mo williams. the pistons have been to the ECF ever year for 5 years str8 and they OWN the magic.

That stat is completely bogus. Lets look at whos played who instead of the "average record" of who a team has played. We swept LA, we swept SA, we have the best road record in the league. We have beat just about every team in the top 10 on that list so while they make out "strength of schedule" worse, we are making theirs better. Lets start looking at the real numbers and not distorted numbers.

This Magic team is doing things even the heralded '95 Finals team couldn't, and that's win on the road and PLAY DEFENSE. Even the best Shaq-led teams were barely better than .500 on the road, and were NEVER all that great on defense. But this team has bought into SVG's philosophy and they are seeing the results. Isn't it amazing that a team can have one of the best defenses in the leauge and still be an up-tempo scoring team as well? Its fun to watch.

I'd be satisfied to just see one more flag flying next to the little embarrassment currently hanging their now. NBA champions? Maybe not, but let's at least start by capturing regional and divisional. If the "big" one happens, I'll celebrate, but I won't condemn them if they don't make it this year.

I agree, the difference is DEFENSE. It makes everything easier. Courtney Lee is the man! It's no coincidence that this run came with him in the starting line up. He is a great defender. He remindes me a little of John Starks, defensive minded, has a good shot, and is fearless to the hole. The best part about the Magic is that we have good character guys on this team. Fun to watch and a team we can be proud of. It's still a long season though. aif we want to win the whole thing, we need to get Pietris to buy in when he gets back.

We already have a retractable Jim, who has to take back every prediction he ever makes, so I don't see the need for a retractable gym.

Magic definitely have put together a great run, but I still don't see them past the second round. No way Magic can take four games from a championship caliber team-yet. If Magic can survive the 2010 free abency onslaught they will have a chane, but you are one role playing center away from Conference Finals. I'm not convinced Jameer can take you deep either. I'm sure you'll go down swinging though, nice season so far.
