I really can't make my mind up about JJ Redick, sure he's (very) inconsistent but he's shown that he can produce for the magic off the bench so maybe getting rid of him, particularly with the injuries, wouldn't be such a good idea. On the other hand, the fact that he's playing better will finally increase his trade value so we might actually get something for him! I can see why Otis Smith is worried about messing with the team chemistry so i guess the best thing would be for JJ to suddenly transform into reggie miller, then we'd have an easy choice!=)

The only thing that Lee and Redick need to do is to play SMART both defensively and offensively every second they are on the court. I don't care how athletic or skillful they are if they don't play smart they will not succeed.

JJ is playing well right now. He is playing well right now. We all know this guy can shoot and handle his own. YES, he is a softie but so was Kerr and other pop/shoot players in the league.
Hell he is even hustling trying to take some hard shots...
Honestly, we can only give him a chance. At this point and time especially with Peitrus out, they are progressing adn producing as they should. JJ/Lee giving us about 22pts off the bench is GREAT. Thats more than we thought starting off the season. About BOGANS i'm just not sure...I might as well get 11pts off the bench consistently then 18pts then 2pt then 0..etc...JJ handles the ball well and his assists are great while with CLEE you get consistent defense.
On the positive side, JJ's shooting touch is coming back too.
Just my thoughts....

Besides, what are you really going to get for JJ? A pick?
Not worth it.

Actually that is whats been happening...
CLEE has been playing great while making plenty Rookies mistakes while JJ's couldnt shoot in the ocean.

Due to that fact, they are both being very careful and simply playing SMART.
Taking Good shots and giving out where they dont have confidence.
I have been watching JJ/LEE lately and they are very selective taking shots...JJ is still very scared shooting bricks but that's all he knows. He is giving up to HEDO/Rashard all the time while hustling too.
CLEE is playing very aggressive defense and thats been great againts JoeJ. That should help tonight too.
JJ's hustles?? Didn't believe it till Atlanta game.

PS,
MAGIC will have to change their game plan a little. They need let JoeJ take all the shots and stop the rest. JJ will come out HOT tonight just because he can and had tough outing last time.
Same game plan would not be SMART this time around.

Kudos to both Lee and JJ.
They are stepping up to meet the challenge and this will make our bench much stronger down the line.
I would not screw around with trades at this point. Next year with Bogans and Cook contract expiring we will have close to 7 million to pick up that missing piece to make us champs.

To make you feel better, after much deliberation they just thought its best to simply follow alphabetical order.

i say trade Bogans....he is worth the money and he is surely more inconsistent than these two (Redick and C Lee)

I say trade bogans/turk package for some inside presence.....even though i like the W's now...but i have a feeling that this team won't make it through in the playoffs! even with Pietry dish back. We need somebody who can handle Rasheed Wallace!....

Thats crazy, Boguns is our best perimiter defender, if we were to trade a SG it should mos def. be Redick, this team has a lot of shooters, we need to sustain our D, Bogans, Lee, and Pietrus can all shoot the ball but all play good D. Giving Redick more playing time should increase his trade value, maybe we could get another PG out of it. GO MAGIC!!!

Bogans has been terrible on defense and then add his lack of scoring for about the last two months and get someone that needs to be traded. The good news is that Bogans contract is expiring just what some teams are looking for right now.

Since your post was posted Lee and Redick have been doing even better with Redick's scores increasing and shooting well over 60% from beyond the arc. SVG said that both of earned their playing time and he isn't going to be moving either of them.
So when Pietrus gets healthy he is going to have to earn back playing time instead of it just being given to him.
