I'm really going to miss Sam Mitchell if the Magic play the Raptors in the playoffs again. His insistence on starting Nesterovic & Bargnani the first few playoff games contributed to the Magic's first round victory last year as much as anything. Dwight & Hedo absolutely destroyed those two guys in the first quarter. If Mitchell went with a different starting lineup then, it would have been a lot closer series (Magic would have probably still won in the end though).

I agree wholeheartedly with Nell. JJ seldomly gets the ball from his teammates. He can be wide open for a shot and they will drive or make a dumb pass and lose it rather than let one of the best shooters ever have a try at it. I wish Orlando would trade him or learn how to use his talents. But-- that is the NBA-- boring and filled with one-on-one play-- instead of team basketall. I try to watch people like JJ, who I admired in college, but I just cannot be a fan of the NBA. Hopefully, tickets sales will begin to show the owners and coaches something has to change, but I guess as long as the ultra-rich can buy up the front row seats-- no one really cares.
This ain't college ball. It's the big leagues. Stan Van, as well as Brian Hill, know a lot more about basketball than you. That talent of his that you went them to utilize is shooting. Right now your boy JJ is shooting 32% from the field and 28% from his area of expertise, the 3 point line. Get over him.

I wonder if JJ might do better if he got the ball more often from his "teammates". He can't shoot if hedo, dwight, jameer and the others hog the ball and/or feed only one another. I also wonder who hangs out together for dinner and stuff -- I'll bet they don't manage to include everyone...it's obvious. Watch.
I bet you are the mother of a kid who never gets the ball on his team because he sucks. Maybe they don't pass it to him because they are way better than your kid, just like all of the players you named, plus 4 other players are better than him.

It might be what you consider the "big leagues" but 90 percent of the people think it is boring. Why do you think Coach K was able to bring the gold back to the USA. Because he knows how to take a bunch of big egos and make them play team basketball-- a game I personally think is much more fun to watch. But, to each his own. I prefer college basketball over the "big leagues" anytime.

Don't worry the basketball team he played on growing up and the team I am sure he plays on at the Y were and are awful and if he would have played on a decent team like I did he would have been riding the pine as well
