Jason -- I heard by phone from someone who was watching ESPN News. I haven't been able to confirm it anywhere else though.(I'm at work and don't have access to a TV.)

A poster on Brian Windhorst's blog site said he heard the Cavs, Bulls, and Sonics were working on a 3-way deal.

Still no updates though. This is weird. Either they made the deal by the deadline or not.....I don't know why nothing has been reported either way. We're 41 minutes past the deadline.

They did it!

Cavs get Wallace, West, Szczerbiak, and Joe Smith. Per Mark Munch on ESPN 850 WKNR.

We lose Newble, Hughes, Marshall, Gooden, and one more.....(I missed it when he was reading them off)

If the trades I heard on WTAM are true then I say, NICE JOB DANNY. The roster needed to shaken up no matter what you youngsters out there who don't know the history of Cleveland sports think!

David Aldridge is reporting in his live blog that the Cavaliers, Bulls and Sonics agreed to a big three-way trade just before the deadline. The Cavaliers are expected to receive Ben Wallace and Joe Smith from the Bulls along with Wally Szczerbiak and Delonte West from the Sonics. The Bulls get Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden, and the Sonics get Ira Newble, Donyell Marshall and Adrian Griffin. Ben Wallace and Joe Smith to Cleveland. The Cavs' Ira Newble, Donyell Marshall and Adrian Griffin to Seattle for Wally Szczerbiak and Delonte West.

It sounds like it's only a matter of time before this becomes official. We'll break down the trades implications once it's all sorted out, but for now consider adding Wally World and Delonte West, especially in deep leagues. Jeff Green should also see a boost in minutes for the Sonics.

I've been a huge critic of Ferry for awhile now, but I give him credit for having some cajones and getting this done. They knew they didn't have what it took to win it all before.....so you gotta take the gamble.

At the very least, it'll show LeBron that they're trying to win, rather than going through the motions like they have been.

Yeah, let's get rid of LaBronia! Let's get a "TEAM" player and get rid of the "ball hog"! He's only interest is himself and the money, so get someone who will be a team player and utilize the other players on the team. Make a deal with a New York team and that way LaBronia can take his hat with him!
Hopefully you're trying to be funny , no one is possibly that stupid ...are they ?

IF WE JORDAN, BIRD AND MAJIC IN THEIR PRIME WOULDNT MAKE THAT GUY HAPPY. GREAT TRADE FERRY. THAT MOVE JUST GOT US BACK TO THE FINALS. THE CAVS WILL NEED TO GEL BUT COME PLAYOFF TIME THEY SHOULD BE READY TO GO.

Wow, I can't digest it all. My initial reaction is that I don't like it. I hope I am wrong. I've never been a fan of Wallace. A player who has zero, and I mean zero, scoring ability allows double teams to be easy. And who is our starting PG now? West? Serious?

I like the addition of Wally, but the whole exchange of players between Cleveland and Chicago is bizzare. I think Chicago makes the playoffs now. Gooden is a good fit for them

They pulled it off, too.
Ben Wallace and Joe Smith (From the bulls) in exchange for Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons and Shannon Brown.
ALSO.
Wally Szcerbiak amd Delonte West (from the sonics)in exchange for Ira Newble and Donyell Marshall.
Adrian Griffen was also sent to the Sonics from the Bulls in this deal, which was certainly more convoluted than most critics, pundits, and watercooler GM's would have guessed - myself included.
Thoughts?

Wallace is an upgrade over Gooden, and Szczerbiak is an upgrade over Hughes.

I noticed that firedannyferry.com is available to be purchased. Anyone interested in buying it? I'd like to be a contributing writer.
Actually, that's not true, it was purchased in November '07. Just going over some old posts here ...
