It's hard to say who got the better deal in the JO transaction yet. If TJ Ford stays healthy and Larry cut down on total salaries which get's the team under the cap for Free-Agency in 2 more seasons - the edge goes to the Pacers. Larry Bird should study what Kevin Pritchard is doing and copy it exactly. The Blazers were looking like the Pacers are looking now just a few years ago- lost. Pritchard got rid of Zach Randolph and the team has been getting better ever since. There is no reason Larry Bird shouldn't be able to rebuild the Pacers in the East in a few seasons. Getting rid of JO is a start.
OK, first off I hope you know that I like Portland, because of Greg Oden (I really want him to get rookie of the year) more then any other team in the west aside from the Rockets if they keep hot Carl Landry and the T-Wolfs because they now have Brian Cardinal. Because the Purdue Boilers are my all time favorite sports organization next to the Colts & the US Olimpic Team (cause that should be every American's fav. team). Secondly I think the Pacers got the
better end of the JO trade, because there's a good chance Ford and O'Neal have been hurt by injuries to the point where there both has beens. And at least the Pacers got the 17th over all pick out of that trade. And on my final note, that was a great move by Portland & Prichet getting rid of Zach Randoff, he was clearly the Jamaal Tinsley of the Portland Trail Blazers. For that reason and the fact that his 13 million dollar contract isn't up for 4 years I think the Knicks are pretty screwed. But then again that's Isiah Thomas for ya, allot of people are blaming this trade he the Pacers made with da Bulls in 2001 when Isiah Thomas was their coach:
SG/F-Jailen Rose & PG-Travis Best to da Bulls for
SG/SF-Ron Artest, C/PF-Brad Miller, & SG/F-Ron Mercer.
for their slump. I personally like Ron Artest or as I like to call him rappin Ron and thought the Pacers screwed up the most when they let Brad Miller go instead of Johnathan Bender.

Next season I look for Portland to be in the playoffs as a contender and possibly the best record in the NBA. But I gotta go with the Rockets as the favorite to win the NBA title.

As for the Pacers, first off I think Bird wants to be under the Cap so he can buy out Jamaal Tinsley's contract and get rid of him since all those trades he made seemed to be 1 guy for like 3. And for that reason I don't think the Pacers will make the playoffs next season. But the season after that I look for the Pacers to make a splash in the free agent market, make the playoffs and be a contender for the title.

The Blazers should be able to get the 8th spot in the tough west next year even if they are still very young. They now have 3 guards who really attack the basket and with the hand-checking rule it's going to be hard to keep them off the freethrow line when they drive to the hoop. I see Lamarcus and Oden dunking quite a few alley-oops from the guards.

I laugh and shake my head when I hear people say Greg Oden hasn't proved anything yet. Greg oden is a freaking monster who will be dunking everything he gets his hands from day one.

Greg Oden has been a winning end 90% of the time since he started playing organized ball.

I like the odd's that GO high % of winning will continue in Rip City.

Well, like I said earlier I think the Blazers will be a contender next season, so I think they will get at least the 4th seat in the NBA playoffs.

Secondly, since I went to college in Terrehuate. I met a few people who knew Greg Oden in Middle School since he didn't move to indy till high school. And they said he used to play football and was believe it or not uncoordinated. Then I heard from some one who went to broad ripple high school that when Greg Oden was in high school he couldn't shoot the ball that well.

But I remember seeing Greg Oden play in the John R. Wooden classic 2 years ago for Ohio State. And from what I could see he was clearly not uncoordinated and belonged in the NBA. The only weakness I see with Oden next season is him maybe being a 75% free throw shooter.

So like I said your team should be a contender next season.

J Jack is a good hard nosed defender but he has some turn over issues at point guard, mainly stepping on the side line while not being pressured. I would suggest painting the out of bound lines a bright neon color. He started most of the season of 2006-2007 when the Blazers won about 30 games. Last season he started about a dozen games when Blake was injured.

Some of the fans started disliking him this season because they thought he should of pushed the ball up court to get the fast break going for Outlaw and Aldridge. Sergio Rodrigus also had a fan based that wanted him to play more minutes so they would complain about Jack and praise Rodrigus.

My favorite team will be playing Purdue this season. I just read that the game was added to the TV schedule.

The DUCKS run a pretty damn good spread option offense and have a very stong defense which is loaded in the secondary.

What type of offense does Purdue run?

Look kid, first off as much as I honestly hate to say it there is a very slim chance Purdue will win that game.

As far as offense goes for Purdue, they usually just throw to 2 people who has been with the program the longest. For example, this season I look for their/Curtis Painter's favorite receiver to be Greg Orton and someone else. Last season those 2 people were Dorian Bryant (should have been drafted) and Dustin "The Destroyer" Keller. The strength of their offense is usually their line and they used to relay on a 1 back system with a fullback. But now they seem to be going with 2 RB's.

Hows that???????

Sorry if it's not that good, I pay much more attention to Pro football then college.

Pats suck, Go Colts!!!!!!!

And who's your pro team, the Sea Hawks???

I thought you said your favorite team was Purdue in an earlier post?? That's why I mentioned the game.
I am a college football fan not a pro-fan and I would never waste time watching the Seahawks.

hahahha u pacers fans suck. Your team was on the cusp of winning an NBA title only 2 years ago. You guys gotta man up. Oh and by the way TJ ford is an amazing player, his shooing is sick, and his role as a pg is also sick. You guys shouldbe happy you jsut got an all star pg. As for rasho and baston, they both suck, getting rid of rasho was my #1 concern and he is finaly gone. Have fun with his reduclious clumbsyness and the fact that he is wayyyyyyyyy over paid. Lucky for us Oneal saw that the pacers suck and sat out last season so his knee could fully recover. Now its our time to shine as him bosh and calderon go for gold. Go Raps GO!!!!!!!!!!
HAHAHAHA!!! Raptors...what a joke. Enjoy Jermaine's time on the bench. I will personally service your manhood if the Raptors ever make it past the first round. But we both know the Pacers are more likely to win anytime soon.

Wow...really? I hope that was a poor attempt at comedy. Your Canadian All-Star team would get beat by the Lions. Ya the Lions.
