Plain and simple. We need a New Yorker as in former Knick to coach or an established coach not a former player from an opponents team. Donnie dont bring in a former enemy to coach, Build the pride from within and the past from the times that this city and team had pride in the team. We didnt win a championship with Jax and Ewing but the garden was electric and those guys left their sweat and guts on the floor every night. Pride Pride Pride

At least he is doing due diligence, something we haven't seen from a Knicks president or owner for that matter, for some time. Might be window dressing, who knows but at the very least Walsh isn't handing the keys to Jax without talking to other candidates. Still would have liked Rick Carlisle to get an interview but apparently Walsh doesn't want him.

You don't put a caoch with NO experience to teach a team that will be mostlty 2nd and 3rd year players.
If Jackson was an assistant somewhere, maybe. But we don't need an ex-player whose only qualification is that he's well spoken

I feel ya but honestly we've had our share of experienced coaches (Larry Brown, Lenny Wilkens) and that apparently didnt matter so i'm definately ready to let Jax take the reins i believe he has a great basketball mind and he'll demand the respect of the players as well as marbury who probably wont be around much longer either. Think he'll be a better coach than Doc Rivers? I believe he will/can be. Hope the Knicks end up doing the right thing in giving him a chance.

The New York Knicks should draft OSU center Kosta Koufos in the 2008 NBA Draft.
