I'm gonna miss Hedo. First team All-Magic SF in my opinion. Best wishes to him, he's a good guy, and deserves nothing but success.

It would be nice to sign Turk again, however, the only way that happens is if there is a "Deshawn Stevenson" effect with Turk; who turned down 3.8 mil in hopes of getting more only to get stuck with the minimum, less than what he would've made if he didn't opt out.

Fantastic column. I'm a big fan of Hedo and his game, I was hoping Orlando could find a way to keep him.

Way to write a positive article Bianchi. What was the point of this article? Are you trying to chase Hedo off? I seriously hope none of the professional athletes in this town take you seriously or let your opinions represent the opinion of the sports fans here.
I hope Hedo signs and we can once again validate what we have known all along - you are a clown of a reporter who spews his unfounded opinions because you feel that is the way to get your article clicks.
You are dangerous to sports in Orlando.

Hedo has played true team basketball the entire time at Orlando, he will be hard to replace.

I'll say goodbye to Hedo if and only if he actually signs elsewhere. For now I will just hope he stays here in a reasonable deal for both parties.

He is not gone yet! We have money and will go into the tax. The blazers only have 8 million and turkoglu is at the top of their list andre miller is number one though. Dwight wants turk back as well so I see them resigning turk and signing grant hill for the Veterans minimum.

We will definetly miss Hedo, his photographic alley-ups with Howard (could be with Carter as well) his sneaky offensive plays like Pierce, great court vision, his ability to activate Lewis when he is off the game, his basketball IQ, his 4th quarter leadership, but most of all "the constant smile" on his face regarless of whether the team is down or winning. Thank you for all, so long Mr.4th Quarter, so long the greatest SF and only point forward of Magic!!

Mike you made it sound so easy pass on Vince sign Turk! It's not that easy. Magic fans would have marched on Amway Arena if they’d found out we passed on Carter and Turk signs with the Lakers, Cavs, or Boston even Miami. Yes we as Magic fans want Turk, you lose Vince by not signing Vince and Turk walks then you'd have your axe out to fire Otis. I'm not sure Turk is tied to the July 8th FA tentative sign date but the Carter deal I'm convinced would be water down the river and not on the table July 8th. I've got a theory on the Vince deal, the sin was to do nothing, and I’ll post it next.

Great article! I am devastated Hedo will no longer be with the Magic. He was a fantastic player and a great Orlando Magic talent.

Mike this was in response to Andrea Adelson weekend article, all good points, if we could have dissected Otis Smith's (Orlando Magics GM) brain prior to pulling the trigger on this Vinsanity trade deal, and ran the neural synapse out put to a large LCD screen I'm sure these Devil's Advocate Scenarios were doing lap dances. Ding, Ding, Ding besides Fantasy Football lets play the 2nd fantasy sport Lets Become GM For A Day. Hedo Turkoglus current market value realistically is around 13-15 million although reports have it in the 10mil range and teams will line up to pay it Cleveland and Boston not discluded. Heres a simple base line Bibby, Marion, and Kirilenko all make over 15m would you trade Turk for any one of these players. Other teams to enter the Turk Sweepstakes are not limited to Miami, Dallas, LA, San Antonio, and NY. OK your Otis Smith and your Crystal Ball foresee these storm clouds on your Horizon. The window for executing the trade deal is open for a short time and has nothing to do with the Turkoglu situation but conversely has everything. Viola! Two years ago Darko Milisec and Rashard Lewis. How did that work out for Memphis? Thats right Darkos headed to NY rumors. Ryan Anderson the New Jersey Net rookie is not Chopped liver and also a first round draft choice, his rebounding and 3 point shooting skills are rumored to be held in high regard in the Magic Camp. Courtney Lee did not return from injury as the same player he was in the 76ers series. The wild card was the 3.2 million player exception in the nets deal benefit: Magics favor (a left over from the Keyon Dooling trade last summer). As the details of this trade are made more readily available I believe well learn the matching salaries of the Nets Dooling and Magics JJ Redic had these two players squarely in the middle of this deal for a while. I truly believe these two names will resurface later this year. Andrea how can you not make the deal, to do nothing is the ultimate sin if Hedo signs somewhere else then the fate of the Franchise has been held hostage by a player you had no control over except to pay ransom money not salary. Vince at 32 came with a 25% first year discount (the 3.2 mil player exception) and receiving another promising 6-10 rookie Ryan Anderson who can shoot and rebound leaves Battie and Alston in a straight up trade for Carter plus a credit in the Magics favor of 1.3 million dollars when you add all salaries involved, and what was Battie averaging 6-8 minutes a game. Say it slowly The Orlando Magic Traded Rafer Alston And Tony Battie For Vince Carter and examine the statistics of all the players and combine Alstons and Batties numbers vs. Vince Carters numbers and theres a 2 to 1 advantage to Vince Carter in scoring and rebounding. Plus Vince had to buy 40 season tickets for fans and family!(: Battie or Alston wasnt getting 40 foot banners outside the new arena to sell tickets. Vince Carter arrives sticky vanilla clean, a Devos type personality, Kudos to Magic for taking a chance and spending the money. I think now I know how it feels now to be a Yankee fan when George Steinbrenner spared no expense. SteFin

Also thanks, Hedo, for all the clanks, wild drives, gratuitous strips, and ridiculous turnovers. Yes you were a class act, Hedo, but you're no Vince Carter on the floor, that's for sure. Praise be to Otis.

Yes a class act, this has me perplexed in one very important area. We used Turk as a PG in critical situations and that is going to be missed big time. He is not going to be replaceable easily and will take another 2 players to make up for what he did. Otis is one smart cookie and dont be surpriesed if Hedo picked the wrong market to become a free agent. Other years he gets what he wants but not this year. I think he would have done better next year when dozens of teams would have looked to him after getting brushed off by the big names. Good luck Hedo but taking a 1 year contract and going again next year is your best option.
