Gators have already survived the ultimate rejection - Steve Spurrier, a Heisman trophy alumni who said the same words as Billy Donovan when he left. He failed in the pros, and now coaches against the Gators. Of course, the Gators ultimately recovered, won a national championship, and will now regularly kick Spurrier's butt.

The same will happen to Donovan. Just like Spurrier, he built the Gator program into national prominence. But from there, the University of Florida determines its own future, and we don't need Spurrier or Donovan. At's as simple as that.

Go Gators!

Uh, didn't Spurrier win the first meeting and the second came down to a blocked field goal. Is that what you boys call kickin butt?

I don't agree with you. I'm not in a position to disagree cuz time will tell but... I think it's a little early to start making predictions about the future of our basketball team before you even know who the next coach will be. Second, we have a great young team of existing players and one of the top recruiting classes in the country coming in. Until you know if these players are going to commit elsewhere or stay, you can't say that we'll be rebuilding. If they stay, our future is pretty strong. And Third, the reputation of the Gators athletic program as a whole, a top notch program int he country, we'll be just fine. it's simply a step back to move forward. The crapper? You've got us confused with Miami's football program.
Yep, two national champions seasons in football with losses in both sure beat what the 'Canes did. Them gators are really some powerhouse. Just ask Auburn.

Uh, did South Carolina win the SEC? Did they win a national championship? No.

Watch for the next 10 years, and then ask me the same question. UF didn't need Spurrier anymore than he needed them. Same is true of Donovan.
I suspect a Cane fan somewhere here.

Billy has nothing to prove, with his top players not returning. This could by Lee Humphrey's ticket into the NBA.

Go Gators.
