Fran didn't need a couple more years in Europe to develop... HE REFUSED TO COME TO THE UNITED STATES AND PLAY FOR THE MAGIC!!!
OTIS WASTED A FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICK! WHAT A GREAT GM HE'S TURNING OUT TO BE?!?!
Fran was not entirely Otis' pick. At the time he was co-GM with Twardzik. I've heard that B. Hill had something to do with that pick also.

MICHAEL YOU MUST BE SMOKING SOME GOOD SH*T..THE ONLY WAY ORLANDO WILL WIN IS BY BECOMING AN INTERNATIONAL TEAM..COMPRENDE...LOOK AT PHOENIX..SAN ANTONIO..DALLAS..GOLDEN STATE..OK BROTHER

Forget trying to grab a top-tier Free Agent. The answer is simple: trade for a guy who would easily be perennial all-star in the East to pair him up with Dwight Howard: Shawn Marion. Phoenix has to cut payroll - their owner has already said as much. And by all accounts Marion would appear to be the odd man out.
The Magic could send Turk, Arroyo, Garrity and the rights to Fran (I-don't-want-play-in-Orlando) Vasquez to Phoenix for Marion and the Suns' first round pick this year.
It works for Phoenix from a financial standpoint because they have only 1 year left on Garrity and Arroyo (who would be a huge upgrade over Marcus Banks as a backup to Steve Nash), Get Turk to help with scoring, and Vasquez as a project big-man to pair with Stoudemire.
It works from an Orlando standpoint because it gets them a proven commodity to put alongside Dwight and a defender who can literally guard four positions on the floor. Marion can score in bunches and could easily become the 2nd option to Dwight. He's also used to playing in an up-tempo system like what the Magic want to move towards. It also gets them a first-round pick in this years draft - something Otis has been trying to do anyways.
The Magic then end up with a starting 5 of:
Nelson, Reddick, Marion, Darko, Dwight. That team - in an up-tempo style offense like what SVG is talking about running - gives every other team in the East fits.

Well I really hope the magic can finally get there act together.I lived in orlando for about 15 years.I can't tell you howe it pains me to see how they have fallen. It's seems that the magic have gottten rid of alot of talent that could have help the magic ;Drew G ,Mike M., Cory Mc . and quite a few more.Management needs to make smarter moves.

Howard needs to decline on going to USA B-Ball as well and stay with the magic staff to work on his offensive game. He should play summer league.
Again my fellow Orlando fans have forgotten that the initial moves Howard showed early in the season were the direct result of his tour of duty with Team USA. The foot speed, the side waving and the impressive performance over Ben Wallace and the rest of the teams during the first 30 games came out of the confidence and help provided to Howard by the coaching staff of USA Team.
Howard, go and learn all you can!

TOP TEN MAGIC OFF-SEASON MOVES:

1) Increase season ticket holder base by offering free "Rednecks for Dummies" book to each subscriber

2) Increase interest in team by moving offices to a double-wide. More Orlando residents would be comfortable with this.

3) Instead of having "Miami White Hot Party" during playoffs, have "Orlando, white trash Party"

4) Tell citizens of Orlando that NBA Basketball does indeed have a team in Orlando

5) Convince fans that Orlando Arena is state-of-the-art

6) Make Sure Stan van Gundy doesn't meet the administrative staff or team owner until season starts

7) Pretend Josh Howard is a multi-faceted player

8) Invent new sport combining the Arena Football League and NBA so Orlando fans can understand the game

9) Bring back Penny Hardaway

10) Leave the NBA and join the WNBA!

I like the manner that Mr. Van gundy analyze our team, he knows that this team probably has more talent as a team, than anyother in the league, he can use a very fast team, very deffensive team or standard offensive team. He has at least two deffensive players for any player at any position.
