Full story: TwinCities.com

Jason Richardson scored 27 points and Amare Stoudemire 25, then sat with the rest of the Phoenix starters while the Suns' reserves finished off a 152-114 rout of the Timberwolves on Monday night in the highest-scoring game by an NBA team this season.

Dear Mr. Kahn,

This is sick, I know, but it's 3 a.m. and I can't sleep because I keep replaying last night's Timberwolves game in my mind. You should take note, because, other than you and the team and a few other real oddballs, no one cares about this team enough to lose sleep over it. So, when I say that I have had enough, you should pay attention.

This team is going nowhere. You screwed up. Bad. Sure, Brewer looks better; sure, big Al is being forced to expand his game. But overall this team is an ill matched bucket of bolts coached by a man who appears to be in way, way, over his head.

Can't you see that this team is falling apart and not gelling? Can't you see that they've all quit on Rambis? Can't you see that Rambis is absolutely the wrong man for the job?

I know that one has to deal in abstracts to some extent -- potential, trajectory, etc. But even by those measures, this team is failing and flailing. You've got nothing, Mr. Kahn. Nothing. Al is losing his confidence; KLove is going backwards; JFlynn is just the newest iteration of Randy Foye -- a failed draft experiment doomed to live on the margins of NBA acceptability (I know this can be debated, but the evidence is mounting). Darko is an interesting experiment and may fit somehow and Ellington is making the improvement that he would in any situation. But this is thin gruel, indeed. You've got a mess on your hands and from any rational perspective it NEEDS TO BE BLOWN UP. Yes, writing in caps is tacky, but the thought is so depressing that it deserves tackiness.

Think about it -- after a ton of wheeling and dealing, picking and choosing from any number of possible coaches, and almost a full season of working together, you've got a team that NEEDS TO BE BLOWN UP. You have blown it, Mr. Kahn. You have Kurt Rambis giving lessons in footwork to Al Jefferson, you have Kevin Love appearing so disinterested that he can hardly keep his focus when he's on the court, you have Jonny Flynn looking like an earnest ninth grader.

This is a failure, Mr. Kahn, of epic proportions. I know we're supposed to genuflect before a picture of St. Rubio and put our faith in giant Euros and free agents and draft choices who have not yet materialized. And maybe you will somehow pull a rabbit out of your hat in one of these regards. But, for now, this experiment is a failure on every level.

Are you, too, awake right now, Mr. Kahn, thinking what I'm thinking? Are you seething at what you're seeing and smarting at what you've done? Are you, in some dark corner of yourself, saying, "I've blown my big chance"?

You should be. But the fans here are longsuffering, and Mr. Taylor is very slow on the switch, so your job is probably safe. Still, your performance, as reflected in the product on the floor and the choices you have made to produce it, should be a subject of real soul searching.

Give us a sign, Mr. Kahn, that you, too, are aware of this team's failure. Give us a sign, Mr. Kahn, that you can correct this. It is a sorry night, Mr. Kahn, a transcendently sorry night. And you are its author. You are its author. You are its author.

Can u imagine in today's economy how season ticket owners must feel? Good luck with renewals for the next season.

If I owned the Tdoodles, I would fire Ramdum and the entire team, and replace them with the MN Gofers women BB team. The talent level would be close, and there would be much more effort and passion. What a joke.

You can thank Kevin McHale for this mess, It will take a couple of great draft pick's and better basketball management to turn this team around.

Sorry to say it, but McHale would have never allowed his team to play such lousy D. This team has obviously given up on Rambis and Kahn, and it didn't even take a full season.

Wow, what a stunningly poor performance. I struggle to find anything positive to comment on, other than the fact that Corey Brewer still seems to be giving a professional effort on both ends of the court. Other than that, not much.

The Hard Truth properly skewers Kahn in an above post, but at the risk of piling on, I would like to add my comment about what a poor job Kahn did in the draft last year. What Kahn saw in Flynn is beyond me as his only skill seems to be an ability to push the ball downcourt, as he cannot shoot, pass, play with heart, or defend. To make matters worse, pushing the ball downcourt doesn't come into play much when you are constantly taking the ball out of the basket. Hindsight is 20/20, or better, but Curry was the popular choice of most people on these pages last spring (once Griffin, Harden, and Evans were gone). Rubio probably would have come over if Kahn hadn't drafted Flynn, as Curry was viewed by most as a "2" guard, who would be a spot up shooter, and not require the ball in his hands all the time.

I also fail to see what Rambis, and his group of all-star assistants, has brought to the table. This season was supposed to be all about "finding out what we have", and "player development". I can answer the first part of that, and the answer is "a bunch of quitters who don't have much talent to begin with". As to player development, ask yourself who is playing better than they were a year ago? It won't take long as the list is rather short, Brewer, maybe Hollins (which isn't hard as he rarely played for Dallas last season).

Several posters have commented about blowing up this mess, so I needn't go there. Kahn forewarned us that this season was going to be a struggle, and he proved prescient. Had I known it would be THIS bad, I would never have bothered to watch a game all season. This isn't even NBA basketball as it more resembles the "no defense" CBA.

Done! Sorry to go on and on. Darko made a couple of nifty interior bounce passes. Brewer's posterizing of Lopez was great. The rest sucked.

Don't think it can get any worse for the Wolves? Just wait till the draft lottery, when the team ends up with the 3rd pick in the draft and will miss out on the only two sure things in the Draft Wall and Turner. Even if they do end up with the 2nd pick, what if Turner goes 1st that leaves Wall 2nd. The Wolves would then be put in the position of drafting a 4th point guard in 2 years. The biggest mistake Kahn made was conducting last years draft with out a coach and system in place. Flynn would excell in a pick and roll system, but Kahn went out and hired a Triangle system coach. That was absolute boofoonery. For the first time since the Wolves came to Minnesota I am checking out, good luck Wolves I'm going to find a different team with competent management, to invest my time, money, and interest in.

With all due respect to the wolves (not that they deserve much from the multitude of mistakes they have made over the years) they (i can't say we anymore) have always been cursed come draft night- always landing a pick one or two below the star level of players. PLEASE BASKETBALL GODS- WHATEVER WE DID TO PISS YOU OFF WE'RE SORRY! LET US GET JOHN WALL OR EVAN TURNER AND FINALLY HAVE AN OFFSEASON FILLED WITH HOPE!

The first mistake was dumping Flip, the second was keeping McHale around for as long as we did. The third mistake was hiring Kahn, this guy has an ego bigger than the Metrodome. I listened to an interview with this idiot and he talked more about himself than the team.
The whole NBA is messed up, as long as NBA contracts are guarateed and most of the players are thugs, there's no reason to bust a$$ on a losing team.
