What this team needs is a pg like mo Williams who is not too expensive and SF like Gerald Wallace(another cheap guy we can pick up)or a Rashard Lewis. Considering how weak the east is were not far from being back in the finals. Personally, I think we should get inexpensive players that could contribute around D-wade and Shaq. They don't need to make a big splash in free agency, just smart acquisitions!!

In Riles I trust! I believe he will make the right moves for this team to climb the mountaintop once again.

Go back to school. Learn the language. It's good that you love the Heat, you are just a difficult read.

Riley will set the Heat back 5 yrs. It's time for him to goooooooooo. Let Spolstra coach the young guys:cook, wright, wade, sign R. lewis or artest, let old man shaq clog the middle, then lets see what we've got

Its about time someone noticed that mo williams is available...granted he may not be billups, he's an up an coming point guard who would do great playing for the heat.

I couldnt agree more, yet i have this gut feeling, that come the tip-off of the 1st game of the season, d-wright will no longer be playing for the heat.

This is very nice! Dorell sucks! And don't worry about haslem. PJ brown is a FA. and the heat still has simien. the main target here is Rashard Lewis/Ron Artest. Oh and re-signing posey. Kapono is gone.

Pat is the best mind in business. Health was a major issue last year if all was well then Miami was the team to beat.Keep Udonis. Let go off Posey and Walker. Get Lewis and as Pat suggests get the best of Point Guard. They will come. This is Pat's, Shaq and Flash's Miami Heat

Arison said he'll pay the luxury tax for a player that'll make an immediate impact--that's why Riley has to go HARD after Rashard Lewis. He's the perfect fit at the 3-spot, a bit who can stretch the floor, rebound, defend a little, and slash. Gerard Wallace will be a disappointment, guaranteed. He looks better than he is on an expansion team, and he still can't shoot or dribble. Read the SI scouting report. Once his athleticism is gone, he's nothing. There's a reason he rode the bench in Sac for so many years.

Second of all, Riles is NOT the great GM many of you think he is. The 2005 team would have won the championship if Shaq and D-Wade had been healthy. When he got Walker, Williams, and Posey, Riley actually DOWNGRADED the Heat--the only difference was, Wade was at 100% and single-handedly led the team to a championship. Don't fool yourselves. We ARE in deep trouble, because we're so old we can't rotate to cover slow guys like Nocioni. We have no trade bait whatsoever. We have little cap space.

Our only hope is if Shaq takes another paycut. He's not worth close to $20 mil, and we can't bring in good pieces if he demands that much.

By the way, many people realize that Mo Williams is available--he's just not "inexpensive" as you put it. He's asking for much more than the midlevel exception, and at ESPN they say he's expecting at least 7-8 mil. as the 2nd best point guard FA out there. And I've heard even Steve Blake wants more than the midlevel (doesn't he realize he averaged 8 pts as a starter???) I don't think the PG is a big issue if we can grab Rashard. Also, Gerard Wallace "cheap"? Are you kidding me? Half the league is after him.

To be honest, Miami is a great city with lots of star power. As long as Arison isn't stingy and is willing to pay over the cap (like James Dolan or Cuban, real owners that want to win instead of make money), we can convince some solid players to come to the Heat.

We don't need superstars, we need good fits. Basically all we need is 3-point shooters who are also hard-nosed defenders. And a consistent third scorer. When you have Shaq and D-Wade, you don't need a true PG--just one who can hit the three and dribble without using two hands.

Sorry for the repeated posting, but I just found the exact numbers: Wallace and Williams' agent says BOTH Gerard and Mo are expecting around $10 mil a season. Are you kidding me? Both of them combined wouldn't be worth that much. Pay a couple mil more and get Bibby.
