Awful trade. Why not give the WHOLE team away for one player?

It appalls me that the celtics would even consider this trade. Kevin Garnet is an incredible player and a true hall of famer. However, Al Jefferson just had a break out season in which he has proven that he can put up impressive numbers and he's 10 years younger. Yes, the Celtics will be acquiring an excellent player and be putting themselves in a good position to win, but they are selling their future. If the celtics do this deal they will go back to being a mediocre to bad team in five years.

Channing Frye, Al Jefferson, Jeff Green, Brandon Roy, Rajon Rondo

vs.

Center, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen.

Think about what could have been.
The C's could have stayed the course with the youth movement and kept Brandon Roy and Jeff Green for themselves. Then trade Pierce to the Knicks for Channing Frye, Renaldo Balkman and draft picks. They could be set for the next 8-10 years.

Instead they will be paying the luxury tax for a 2nd round playoff team. At least one of the big three will break down by playoff time, and they bench is non-existent.

Throw in 2 lobsters, a clam chowda and a six-pack of Sam Adams and you got a deal.

This is a no brainer for the Celts. Allen, Garnett and Pierce three superstars whose games all compliment each other. They need to pick up some role player and then they will win the east.
