This whole idea that the second best player, or second pick, from all the college players eligible is some how a negative is ridiculous. C'mon now, we have a chance to get the second best or maybe the best player out of college and it's described as "frustrating" and "uncomfortable". oh, boo hoo. how should we feel for the teams picking in the 20's?

Go Heat, pick Rose, pick Beasley...we will be very happy Heat fans!

Ira, Great piece! Perhaps in the coming days you could due an article or blog on the 'Heat's dream scenario' on draft day. If there is a realistic, but impact pick and/or trade the team would make, paint that picture for us?

If the Lakers decide to trade Bynum, we could offer D. Cook and A. Johnson to help strenghthen thir bench and have Bynum.

pg- Dooling f/a, J. Williams, Quinn or Banks
sg- Wade, Dooling, Davis
sf- Marion, D. Wright
pf- Beasley, Haslem
c- Bynum, Zo

or shop haslem for another sharp shooter, maybe M. Miller;

LA are doing fine w/o Bynun, and may be looking to trade him...

Not a great draft, but you can't beat on having the #1 choice.

Paxson will have his ears open, but no one has anything to offer these days except to rid of large contract.

Rose will be around in a Bulls uniform for years to come.

We could do so much with this group;

pg- wade
sg- miller
sf- marion
pf- beasley
c- bynum or zo

A long-athletic group of shooters or:

dooling
wade
davis
marion
haslem
for a quicker line-up

Miller? Nope forget Memphis. But I wonder if we can trade Davis/Banks for maybe Gerald Wallace from Charlotte??

Beasley has personality issues. As in hustle. Riles Does Not like that kind of player. If they draft him, look for a trade.

The good news for the Heat is that there is not another Darko out there to draft.

The heat picked Caron Butler 10. Not Wade. And there is ALWAYS a Darko in the draft.(i'm looking at you brooke lopez) I think Beasley is exactly what we need. I shooting big man who can rebound like a fiend. LA isn't giving us Bynum for out crap and neither is memphis. If we make a move it will be with Marion. If not i think we should go after Dooling and Foyle.

1.Dooling/banks
2.Wade/Cook
3.Marion/wright
4.Beasly/haslem
5.Zo/foyle

Its servicable with some nice bench depth. I think we'd be better than most people believe. 4-5 seed in the east.

there is no way that the bulls should draft derrick rose i dont think. i think that hinrich is very good PG and the bulls need a big man in the paint. i say they should draft beasley and put tyrus thomas at center. the heat need a PG to go along with dwade. they also need to find a center in free agency if they want to do anything next year.

Given the HEAT pick second in a 2 player draft how does that work? I doubt they pick a Lopez twin.

Were Zo's "past personality problems" a defect?

If the Bulls had the #1 pick would it be Jordan or Hakeem? They would have gone for the franchise center.

He has personality issues because he's 19 years old, which pretty much guarantees that he's immature and has some significant adapting to do. Doesn't mean he can't be an impact player down the road. Most players drafted at that age or younger take a few years to develop.

If he's the best player, and the only thing you can get on him for is that he has a tendency to not hustle at times, you shouldn't pass him up. He's probably never really had to hustle.

Pacman Jones was a hard worker. So were Larence Phillips and Ricky Williams. So was Len Bias. I could go on and on.

If he had some sort of arrests or drug use or problems with mouthing off to coaches, or something like that in his past, then you can say he has personality issues. But if that's your only red flag, and he's got more upside than anyone else in the draft, if he's available, I'm taking him.
