How can the score justify the talent between the team?

Did one team give up? If so, why are you fools paying them?

all is great in that Phil (Mr Zen) did not win. I can live with the Celtics winning.

It shows that smart trading (including shrewd drafts) can rebuild a team that can win it all.
Knick fans - have patience.

The Celtics won because they were on David Stern's "Fix" list. Next year, it will be the Cavs; don't hold your breath Knicks fans, probably 2016 if your owner sells the team before then

Will people finally stop mentioning Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan in the same sentence? Kobe is an amazing one-on-one player. But last night demonstrated that he lacks the enormous determination that Jordan had. Kobe realized he was getting embarrassed and pretty much quit. He was on the floor while the Celtics went on a 26-6 run - most of it with 3 bench players. He looked befuddled during the fourth quarter, throwing bad passes, having the ball stolen, taking bad shots. He shot a less-than-MVP 7-22, many of them selfish jumpers that led to Celtic fast breaks. Even worse, when LA needed stops, he was often late on defensive rotations. His defensive assignment, Ray Allen, set a record for 3-pointers in a playoff finals. Look for Kobe in Ray Allen posters on sale this summer at better sporting good stores everywhere.

While Kobe surely did not have a good game, you must remember this is a TEAM game. The Celtics have a much better team, and a much better bench. Kobe is a great player, but with the exception of Odom, who showed flashes of talent, the rest of the lakers played horrible the entire series. The Celtics play as a team, were the MUCH better team, and that is why they won. Home court advantage also helped them, but they earned that as well. Congrats to the Celtics.

Even though they are from Boston, I surprisingly wanted the Celtics to win, unlike the Red Sox or Patriots. I think that's because they lend hope to crappy teams like the Knicks that you can turn it around in one year. At least, you can if you're team isn't run by morons.

I also get the impression that nobody in New York was really that interested in the NBA or NHL finals.
