LeBron James is Overrated

May 25, 2009 Full story: BleacherReport 94

Yes, you read that right. I think LeBron James is overrated. I still think he is one of the top five players in the NBA, but to say he is as good as Kobe Bryant or Chris Paul is stretching it... LeBron James is Overrated by David Arreola 74 reads Opinion May 24, 2009 Yes, you read that right.

Guys just calm down..

Every superstar has to get responsiblity in hard situations.

If you take out Lebron, Cavs sucks, thats a truth.

Lebron couldn't get a ring YET because other members of the team are bad or lets say not enough.

You say Kobe got 3 consecutive rings. Look at that team please:
Derek Fischer
Rick Fox
Robert Horry
Shaquille O'neal

sure this roster will be the champion.

Lebron has:

daniel gibson
west
Ilgauskas
mo williams

This is the difference.
And if you look at his stats, I currently did.
He's at the top 50 at all statistics.
I mean all of them.

http://www.nba.com/statistics/index.html

look at whatever you want.
Almost at all of them he's better than Kobe.

Kobe is great player I admit that but he is more of a shooter. He scores many buzzerbeater and game winners. Lebron's shoot is not that great but still he is great throughout the game.

Both of them have great skills but Lebron's is just wider.

Physically, LeBron James may be the most impressive physical specimen to ever play the game. He can play, and HAS played every position on the floor. The only other guy I've ever seen do that was Magic Johnson. But James is far more athletic than Johnson.

Overrated?

No.

What he IS is overhyped to the point of nauseaing.
For instance... How many times have you tuned Sports Center and seen as part of the highlight package, LeBron shooting baskets from half-court, 3 quarter-court, and full-court. They will show him in a practice facility throwing a football into a hoop from full-court. They will quote the most silly statements from him about his ability to play in the NFL.

He is easily the most quoted athlete in the league.
Anything he says gets frontpage billing.

For me the crim-de-la-creme was this ESPN highlight reel of the "Ten biggest shots of the decade." In it was the game winning shot he hit against Orlando to extend the Eastern Simis to Game 5. It may have been one of the ten biggest shots in his life, but one of the ten biggest of the NBA decade?

Hypejuice.

Then there was the statement that he would stop wearing #23 in honor of Jordan and that the league should retire the number for the same reason.

Shaq O'Neal is amazed at how much attention LeBron gets!

This guy better hurry up and win a championship, or I'm gonna start to get the impression that the NBA has become a popularity contest instead of a pro sports league.

Lebron may never win a championship, because wherever he ends up in the summer, he is going to demand a ridiculous salary, that the team he signs for, won't have any money left to surround him with good players. It will just be Lebron and very very average players.

Lebron james is the most overrated player of all time. How can you even begin to compare hes skills to the great players like KB,and MJ.

You have seen LJ for six seasons, every season his all around play has outshined KoMe. His career PER is much higher than KoMe it is only second to MJ.
Each head to head competition with KoMe, LJ has made KoMe looked ordinary. Last night, LJ gave KoMe a clinic on team play and team work, 37 points and nine assists. KoMe as usual was a pig 12-31, many of his shots were typically ill advised shots.

In only six seasons Lebron has a PER of over 27 which is second best all time to MJ. KoMe no where near how is LJ over rated?

I hate the Lakers and the Cavs, but at the end of the day, your stats don't mean a DAMN THING. It's championships that matter. Kobe (even though i hate his guts) can sit back and relax safe in the knowledge that he has 4 NBA championship rings. No one can take that away from him.

How many has Lebron got ZERO.

All Lebron has won in his career is an award for the biggest baby on the planet. Game 6 in Orlando.

Queen James threw her toys out of the crib.:-)

Ha Ha, TOO FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!

Stats and your play on the court does matter. There are a lot players in the Hall of Fame who have no titles. Many people in the NBA had more titles than MJ but you can not say they are better than MJ, especially the Celtics who won 11 titles with Bill Russell and won some more with Larry Bird.

You're right, i'm sure LeBron would hate to win an NBA championship, as long as his stats and his appearance in the mirror look good, i'm sure he'll be happy (oh unless he has to shake hands after a defeat).

LJ may or may not win a title but his hustle, athletic and smart plays on the court speaks for itself. Kobe had a great game last night kudos for him, it was against Toronto. His team mates let him down Lamar and Artest combined for only 8 points and seven rebs.
