Bulls move Larry Hughes to inactive list

A transplanted Bulls fan actually sported a sign Wednesday night that said "Put Larry In." That would have been hard to do considering Larry Hughes wore street clothes. Read more

Looks like the Bulls are giving Larry Hughes the Stephen Marbury treatment of go home while you collect your millions. No matter how hard Pax wanted to trade this guy, basically, no one wanted him this year. Anyway, it would've been a garbage for garbage trade anyway. Pax will have to wait until next season when Larry Hughes' final contract year, not Larry Hughes himself, will be worth something.

Say what you will about the team's moves up until now, but I think this is the best thing they could have done in this case.

Hughes kept running his mouth about playing time and this is the price he is (and should) be paying. When a guy says he should get more playing time and makes it sound like an entitlement, its another way of saying I'm better than the guys who are playing. Not a good teeam or career move.

If the Bulls caved in to Hughes' whining all would be lost. At least they are beginning, slowly, to look semi-respectable instead of like a bunch of zombies. Getting rid of such a malcontent can only help.

Another brain dead move by the clueless Paxson.

Look at Duhon's stats, Pax got nothing for him...Chandler, JR Smith,
etc.

No one wants the second string Kapt of Klank Hinrich or piano backed cry baby Nocioni either.

Bulls are hopeless.........

Poor Little Shot Larry. He must be stunned to realize there aren't 20-odd teams lined up to procure his services. I'm not saying the man doesn't have value. Unfortunately, like Ben Gordon, his warped sense of his own worth doesn't exactly correlate with his actual value.

Larry, just because one GM (in a moment of weakness, following a career year) thought you were a $13 million/yr. man doesn't mean that's actually what you're worth. That's why the suitors aren't lined up right now. They realize that in order to make the money work, they might have to give up players of some "value" for the pleasure of watching you lunge after steals and miss wide-open (or highly-contested) 18-footers.

The way Paxson does things amazes me. If Paxson ever goes into the private sector, i'd be glad to work for him. He seems more than happy to pay someone for doing nothing. However this thing with Hughes is really puzzling. The guy has talent, but Paxson refuses to allow Vinny to use him, and i can't put my finger on why. Gordon is not going to sign with the Bulls this off-season if he gets any sort of comparable offer from another team. So, Paxson will go into next season w/o any sort of shooting guard.

And Reinsdorf actually praises the guy for trading for a player who he's having to pay big money to for absolutely nothing. Every day that goes by Bulls management continues to baffle me with their ineptness. I'll say it again, i actually can't stand where the Bulls are personnel wise, from the very top to the boughs of the bottom. Yet, i'm a fan of the team and always will be, even if i don't like them.

I believe Pax never wanted Larry Hughes but he had to be part of the Ben Wallace trade because BW was not the answer here. Chicago media and fans wanted Ben Wallace out of town more than they wanted ex-Gov. Rod B. out of public office. So, basically, the trade was a wash. At the time getting an "only plays for a contract" Hughes for a rapidly declining Ben Wallace who does nothing offensively was more than welcomed by everyone.

you don't have to be baffled. the master plan is for hinrich to start with rose. hinrich with jordon wouldn't work the same as paxson and jordan didn't. how can b.j. armstrong take your job! as we speak, paxson is hoping gordon gets hurt so that he can insert hinrich into the starting line-up. once hinrich gets back in that starters spot, they'll never take him out. and then they'll have excuse after excuse for his pathetic play. this is what we have to look forward to. such a shame.

Step two of the three-step Hughes' program is under way...
1. bench him
2. tell him to go home
3. trade him

One more to go!

You see, Nada Surf can only read at 10 words a minute. Long posts would take him hours to read. So please, from now on keep your posts to 10 words or less. And no big boy words either. Nada can only understand up to a 4th grade reading level. Abide by these rules and we can all gain from Nada's wonderful insight of all things in the sports world.
Believe in The Surf!(That's what I tell Nada to tell himself every 5 minutes just so he doesn't have one of his "freak outs". I think we can all benefit from self-encouragement. Come on, everybody now "Believe in The Surf!" Doesn't that feel good?)
