It began as a veritable slap-stick routine . . . and might end with an unhappy one-and-done. Magic center Dwight Howard tells us he was so disappointed after his first all-star dunk contest that he might not ...

Its VC who is starting those rumors because he wants to come and play here. Why would Otis trade for a guy who is going to be a free agant? The Magic can probably sign him for less money than he will be asking for. This only because VC will not have very many options and he wants to play here real bad. Hill and Darko for VC is a bad idea. Let VC come here as a free agent. We will be getting back to full force in the coming weeks and there will be no spot for VC this year.

Garrity for Dale Davis is a great idea. If the Pistons were willing to do that I say pull the trigger.

Dwight Howard should not be worried or upset about the slam-dunk contest. It is nothing more than glitz & glamour, and NBA marketing.
The reality is that working hard, improving your game, and playing up to your potential are far more important than an egotistical "Hot-Dog" contest!!

Where is Nate Robinson this season?? Sitting on the Knicks' bench, playing sparingly & sporadically. Word out of New York is that Robinson does not practise with focus, intensity and purpose, and his game is going nowhere. As for Gerald Green, he gets little court time on a woeful, inept team!!

The NBA should be about fostering excellent basketball fundamentals and team-work, not about hot-dogging and show-boating. In a game, a dunk is two points - so is a layup.

Ask Tony Allen about the "macho" and "show-boating" essence of the slam-dunk. In a game that was already decided, Allen chose to "entertain" the crowd, rather than put in an easy layup: now his career is IN JEOPARDY!!

By all appearances, the Magic have a formidable schedule upcoming. Such could conceivably determine their season and whether they make the playoffs or not.

It's time for the team to "dig deep" and play with smarts, intensity and focus. Otherwise, this season and the playoffs are "toast"!!

Sadly, the Magic need not be in this position: unfortunately, pathetic "mismanagement" put the team there. Case(s) in point: instead of "holding the bag" (an empty one at that!!) on the a.w.o.l. and cowardly Frannie Vasquez, the Magic could have the valuable services of one Danny Granger today. In lieu of the defensively-weak, non-athletic J.J.Redick, Orlando could have the sizeable, athletic and defensively-tough Ronnie Brewer or Thabo Sefolosha in the line-up. Rather than practice-player James Augustine, the gritty and strong Paul Millsap could be "displaying his wares" for THIS team.

The list of "managerial crimes" goes on and on: Reece Gaines...Jerryl Sasser...dumping Drew Gooden AND Anderson Varejao for a slow and highly limited backup center... Give me a break!!

The truth is that Magic' management (MISMANAGEMENT) has put the team in a precarious spot. Terrible drafts and ridiculous trades have made Orlando a .500 team, when they could easily be .600 to .650!! It's time to bring in a managerial team that has a clue.

Waaah, waaah, waaaah,,,
the judges showed favoritism to the little guy...

Of course the judges are gonna be impressed when a 5.7 guy dunks instead of a 7 footer.... ITS HARDER!!!

Being a foot shorter than Shaq, I remember when I was much younger we had brought down our gym netx by one foot and right away I went from a white guy who could put his barely get it over the rim to a dunking fool.

Fair or not, people will always be impressed by the shorter guy dunking.

Howard got robbed big time. That sticker dunk was something else. At least give him another chance.
