Shaq, Kidd getting theirs?

Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

You root against the Mavericks and Suns not because of the so-called softness of Dirk Nowitzki or the defensive distain in Phoenix.

Even if Shaq loses he is still getting paid. In fact, he is on a winning team that made the playoffs.

I think he got the best deal out of anyone. He could have been back in Miami trying to carry a team at 35 years old.

Marion isn't that young, and I can't imagine his game developing any further. Dwyane Wade is injury prone and more concerned about how his make up looks in his next commercial. Alonzo can't accept life after basketball, unfortunately, it will be a sad to see him being outplayed by rookies next year. Haslem is a decent 6th option. Rose is a better point guard than Wade, however, that's not saying much.

trade wade for some young talent.

Dr. Buss DID take advantage of the Heat. Shaq cried for a max contract extension of 7 years, 7 YEARS at an average of 30 million. The Lakers would have put themselves in a big hole for 7 years. The Lakers would have been crippled for years. Imagine paying Shaq 28 million with a salary cap at 54 million.

Shaq ACCEPTED less with Miami and the Lakers ended up getting Caron Butler and Lamar Odom. Dr. Buss took advantage of the situation. Shaq wasn't happy because Kobe was the future, not him. Dr. Buss saved money for the future and brought in young talent. The Heat got the final piece to win a championship.

Just imagine how the upcoming season would be if the Heat did not take advantage of the Suns to unload Shaq's contract.

The terms of Kwame's contract were defined before the trade, so it was not luck that they had an $11 million contract expiring this year. The Lakers took a two year chance on Kwame, it did not pan out. They had the highest expiring contract in the League, and took advantage of Memphis.

Give them some credit.

Snaq is fat, slow, lazy, an ingrate regardless of what idiots in the Netherlands think. The Lakers took a hit by getting a few pieces for him; better than letting him walk as an unrestricted free agent. The Lakers were also able to trade those pieces for something else -- some hurt, some helped. But the bottom line is the Lakers are much better now than had they kept Snaq even one more season.

Right now, Odom is better than Snaq. Snaq wore out his welcome in Orlando, Los Angeles, Miami. You think he won't do the same in Phoenix? You think he won't throw D'Antoni under the Buss (pun intended)?

First off, Cleveland is sorry a#$ team that got lucky with the Wizards in the first round the last 3 years instead of teams like Orlando, Toronto, Detroit, or even Philadelphia. They are truly way over rated, The Spurs proved that last year.
Second, I thought Shaq wins Championships when he is mad????
Third, Go Heat 2009!

I am only sorry that the "Big Over-the ill" wasn't swept. How long before he starts whining and bad-mouthing his teammates and coach?
Jason Kidd got Byron Scott fired after he coached them to a final appearance. How fitting it is that on the night Byron Scott received his coach of the year award, his team booted Kidd and the Mavs. out of the playoffs?

The acquistion of Shaquille O'
Neill was one of the worst moves in the NBA this season. I heard one Phoenix fan say he can't even watch his team any more because of O'Neill
