It is a long season folks. We'll talk in March. A freshman that scores 20 points in his 5th game is catching heck for having a poor game? Oh my, you people are messed up in the head. Reality check time.

Didn't see the game, but I am just wondering if they ran the typical Sampson offense? The stand there and watch the guy with the ball do something.

hit a speed bump and the bandwagoners start flying. typical. Could be a good thing. Now we know Gordon is human, maybe his teammates will step their game up.
The sky ain't a fallin people, no need to panic, sheesh.
oh yeah, big ups to Stanley Burrell, a Ben Davis product. SIU got one too, Wesley Clemmons(+ 2 other Indiana boys). Still feeling the effects of losing Indiana kids from the mike davis era.

IU Exposed for the fraud that it is. This is what happens when you play a Division 1 program. Not a good one, but a mediocre one that plays Div 1 ball. You can't rely on tossing up 3 pointers all the time, now can you? IU's inside game is weak.
"IU has a great team" Pffffft! Give me a break. SIU is going to kill you guys. prepare for 2 more straight losses.
Where is all the National Championship talk now?
disappointing result, yes..but fraud? that seems like an extreme statement from an IU hater...hopefully they can learn from this and use it to help them be a better team by the start of the conference schedule...this team will go far in march

IU finally played a team I have heard of. I think Miami beat Xavier just last week. Granted, Miami is a spectacular team ([email protected] near beat USC last night), but I would think the #8 team in the country would have no problem with XU.

Michigan St. is the true frontrunner in the Big Ten. They have proven talent. They almost beat #1 UCLA a few days ago.

Didn't Michigan State lose their first game this season?

I didn't get to see the game - I won't pay the Big Ten tax.

Teams will get film on Gordon and figure out how to defend him. IU will have to adjust. I'd guess Mr. Sampson (cheater) already realizes this...

Keep your heads up! The world hasn't ended, IU just lost a game. You thought that they would be undefeated this year?

Really, this is to be expected. New players , no matter how potentially good have to be molded into a team. This is what games like this are for.

What we need to look at is, how the team grows from this and what this team becomes. I think we have nothing to worry about but we don't want to put that crap about championship on to unrealistically. Very disappointing but not the end of the world.

PS:

Forget all the anti Sampson and anti Gordon crap. You know those comments are coming from Illni Losers or PUke Losers. Whining and losing are second nature to them. What else are they good at???

Since when do people in Illinois care about IU? Oh sorry, now I remember.
As for the 3's ever heard of Butler? Stay tuned.
It's not that people in Illinois(or West Lafayette or anywhere else for that matter) CARE about IU,it's they like watching the MIGHTY HOOSIIERS fall flat on thier face when they depend on a freshman to carry thier carcasses night in and night out. why have DJ White on the roster? thought he was supposed to be the next coming of Dwayne Wade or Kevin Garnett. This is the norm every year,IU is the self-proclaimed "champions of the world" until they lose and come crashing back down to bloomingtucky,Indiana, then it's the refs, the floor, the fans, the alignment of the stars etc...wait till big ten season when a harsh dose of reality sets in and all teams are of big ten caliber.lucky for I-pew they have the boilers at home this year otherwise it would be a spankfest for the hoosiers at Mackey courtesy of the boilers and Etwaan Moore and company.

Now we have to wonder whether Eric Gordon can really hold up under the type of defense he will encounter in the Big Ten. jcb

I think the high flying hoosiers may benefit from this loss. They have raw talent but it takes more than that. They arent a team yet.

Wow peepeepete,
You sound a little bitter there. Still reeling from the football loss are we?? Grow up and wipe those tears, it will be ok. Until we DO beat you in basketball too this year.

i think you are correct, they also need to make sure they don't get into the habit of depending on a fantastic outing by a freshman every night

I am not concerned about the team. That is why we play the preseason games to workout the quirks and get ready for the regular season. I do have a question though, from IU fans ONLY, in your opinion do you think Sampson can coach?? I guess just watching the game last night I wondered why he didn't make the appropriate adjustments? Not getting the ball inside to DJ, etc. I think EJ found a way to get involved since his shots were not there by getting to the line as much as he did. Just a question to someone who knows more. I felt really frustrated and felt like they came out flat in the second half. Is Sampson going to be able to get it out of them?

Indiana lost a game. Big deal!
Get ready to play the next one. Did you think they would go 32-0?
